Eh, that's tricky... It's a "drive mod" meaning that the wii's "brains" shouldn't see anything weird or altered, just a disc drive that does what it tells it.

Is it safe? for now... but you could sign online on a day they release new detection mechanisms and BAM you're banned for life. so is it worth it?

It's kinda like dancing in a minefield, you might make out of for a little while, but something's sure to go wrong the longer you do it

Well there are better places to ask then here where the guy is obviously not going to admit a crime. Who's to say it was a crime either... Downloading isn't actually always bad, since you are allowed to acquire backups of discs you purchased in any way that suits you.

Don't download what you don't already own! Or at least don't ask about doing it in all the wrong places...

Rofl, who told you that? Developers can make use of trial system in a way in which they choose such as demo's, time or level limits, you are not allowed to break copyrights because you don't appreciate the developers method of trial. Lastly, do you think copy write lawyers are going to leave a loop hole like that? What kind of headache would they be committing to, if they had to prove your copywritten material was over 24 hours old??

You know, with ROMS that might be possible actually. That's kind of a grey area because roms are supposed to belong to an arcade platform/cabinet/chipset so they were never really set up to be sold individually.

The rom community exists for the sake of archiving and all of that, so emulators and making rom dumps available for distribution is kind of ignored by copy write nuts
