@cheddar265 you need the latest patch for dow to be able to play online. i no it sais its downloading in game but you need to download it on the internet. check ur dow version and download and install newer patches online. it will run installer

Its a great game, and is much like tabletop, lose a squad, thats a big impact on the game, you have to be careful, dow1 too little strategy and calculation for you could freely send squads to there death with little problem. Dawn of War 2 is a great game and me as a tabletop player find it more challenging, dow 1 did have great campaigns though.
@Yupyuk Actually Dow 1 does take tacitics, you obviously just judge it based on the QS mode, which i admit takes no thought.
However a standard game is all about resource management, making different types of units to combat other types, and teching when necessary.
DOW 2 is a lifeless game, and it has no feeling in it. DOW DC, however, has much more of an epic feeling to it. It's not a difficult game to play, but it's not easy, and better players will beat weaker opponents.
@MultiSpiT nah dow 2 is more about fighting than base building. and dow 2 is a lot more like the original wh40k as you have to keep ur units alive rather than just sending them to their deaths. although i am mad they took necrons out and added nids. i hate nids

im referring to D2 as Dune 2, as in Dune the series by Frank Herbert, that game was released in 1992, before it was released, the RTS genre was not what we see today, Dune 2 changed the RTS genre and starcraft 1 made the RTS genre better

I just recently bought Warhammer 40k DawnofWar2 and ive noticed that theres not that many custom public games being made and that there is not that many people playing it. 40k should only be compared to company of heroes.i like em both but CoH would be my first choice cuz the environment plays a much bigger role there,and the game is a bit less chaotic,on the other hand,40k is more complex in a way that you have to construct a lot more buildings to achieve something,more research is required,its for those ppl who like to go big and get rewarded for it by the end of the game(in CoH i only build 2 base structures)id say its a bit more of a classical rts than CoH

@Undeazgul It went original dawn of war, then winter assault. Then dark crusade, then soulstorm. But im sorry to tell you that the campaigns only went linear until winter assault, dark crusade and soulstorm both have a risk style campaign without a major storyline. Its really gay i think. the gameplay and skirmish still holds it for me though.

DOW 2 is a lifeless game, and it has no feeling in it. DOW DC, however, has much more of an epic feeling to it. It's not a difficult game to play, but it's not easy, and better players will beat weaker opponents.

im referring to D2 as Dune 2, as in Dune the series by Frank Herbert, that game was released in 1992, before it was released, the RTS genre was not what we see today, Dune 2 changed the RTS genre and starcraft 1 made the RTS genre better

maybe you guys shouldn't had tried to argue with me, im a guy who had played a lot of RTS games, Empire Earth 2, Starcraft, Warcraft 3, Dune 1998 and Emperor Battle For Dune, the C&C series, Age of Empires, Halo Wars, Warhammer 40k and of course, Supereme Commander and TA, i even played the Spring Project, a RTS engine that is used to develope RTS games.
you name it, i already played it, and tell you guys a little fact: without westwood's Dune 2, there will be none of the RTS games we know today

In some respecs your right about D2 but without SC no RTS would be anything like they are now. Also the fact you put Halo wars on your list poves your no "pro" RTS gamer. WoW does have many registerd users. It's one of the biggest games globally and makes blizzard 210 million dollers a month of subscriptions alone. Like it or not WoW is Blizzards biggest money maker by a long long shot.
To think blizzard shouldn't devote more then 70% of there company to WoW proves you know nothing about finance, economy, how to run a business or gaming in general. GG mate.

and there is different branches in THQ i believe, i bet you that THQICE is not afflicted with the development of Supreme Commander and Warhammer 40K, in Blizzard, they have different develop teams for Diablo, Starcraft, and Warcraft, and they don't have anything to do with the other teams other then an in game reference to another game. like the Tauren Marine in starcraft 2.

40k should only be compared to company of heroes.i like em both but CoH would be my first choice cuz the environment plays a much bigger role there,and the game is a bit less chaotic,on the other hand,40k is more complex in a way that you have to construct a lot more buildings to achieve something,more research is required,its for those ppl who like to go big and get rewarded for it by the end of the game(in CoH i only build 2 base structures)id say its a bit more of a classical rts than CoH

@Undeazgul It went original dawn of war, then winter assault. Then dark crusade, then soulstorm. But im sorry to tell you that the campaigns only went linear until winter assault, dark crusade and soulstorm both have a risk style campaign without a major storyline. Its really gay i think. the gameplay and skirmish still holds it for me though.

and in my opinion, Perimeter: emperor's Testament is an RTS game that revolutionize the RTS genre, this infamous Russian game is actually pretty fun and can gey really competitive. people say the graphic of Perimeter looks very much like Starcraft, but the gameplay is different, and the graphic of Perimeter 2 look too much alike Starcraft 2, and came out before Starcraft 2
