  • the song is scary to me even though it sounds so "lighthearted"

  • People who make youtube videos by pointing a camera at their TV should be shot.

  • @WindupAtheist If I were you, I'd demand your money back

    oh. right.

  • jesus.....my volume is all the way up and i still cant hear this.....

  • @billyralphweeden You must have pretty lousy speakers then.

  • @CrazyJustin2006 Nah mate the quality is just shit.

  • Who made this? Grandpa needs some tech help! lol

  • is this on tv or in the colonial theater when u filmed this by the way the colonial theater was in the blob

  • @TheCodmw2rocks It was on my TV. Wow I can't believe this video is 3 years old and has over 30,000 views. At the time I posted it was the first video of the theme song.

  • luv this song :3

  • Guaranteed to make you smile!

  • sweet!!!!!!!!!!!! i love this song!!

  • Burt Bacharach's masterpiece!

  • Beware of teh blob! it leaps and creaps and glides and slides across the floor. SO FUNNY!!

  • This song cracks me up. It sounds like the opening to a show for five-year-olds!!! Love it!!!!!

  • If this movie had come out in 68 instead of 58 ,people would have been trying to trip out on the visual effects,in the opening theme of the movie.

  • I lolled when I first heard the words, GREAT THEME MUSIC!

  • Nice Theme Music!

  • hey everybody lance to the blobtusie! there was the twist, monster mash, margarania lets dance the BLOBTUSIE LOL

  • i love the theme music

    it's beautifully well done

  • Beware Of The Blob .....LOL

  • i love how happy the song is and how afraid of the blob everyone is.

the movie was so funny to watch. i saw it yesterday and could not stop laughing at it.

  • this movie scared me to death when i was little! im now 14 and it still scares me a bit lol

  • Hey everyone, grab your beach gear and head on down to the beach! The Blob's coming and he's bringing far-out groovy music to dance to. Don't be afraid, he's a fun blob that just wants to dance !

  • heh....forgot about this opening with the happy little cartoon of expanding blobs and the doo wop style of music. Gonna have to learn this to annoy my fellow cubicle rats

  • I always thought this was done by "The Champs" of "Tequila".

  • Where can I download this song!?!? lolol

  • This classic theme song was written--and

    performed by--the then-unknown composer,

    BURT BACHARACH!

    He used multi-tracking recording equipment

to make himself into a non-existant group,

    The Five Blobs! LOL!!

  • It worked.

  • Correction: Somebody told me,that the actual

performer of this song was a Mr. Bernie Nee

[sic]. But Burt Bacharach DID write the

    song...

  • Well, according to IMDb, it was performed by "The Five Blobs". Not a real band, just came together with that name for this song, which was a moderate success on its own.

  • A good friend of was in the theatre scene, where everyone panics and runs out the door screaming....

His claim to fame in the movies!

  • thank you so much I appreciate it

  • No problem!

  • great theme song, does anyone know who sings it

  • Its Beware of the Blob by the Five Blobs.

  • lol i cant beleive i was ever afraid of a movie with such a catchy upbeat song lol.

  • and its only one person singing

  • 50's are so funny. Even the music in horror films can't help being happy-go-lucky.

  • I have this movie, and the music is hilarious. It's good, but it doesn't go with the movie. Funny.

  • oh my god...I have been singing it all the night...

  • who did this song , i love it.

  • Burt Bacharach.

  • That's right!! :)

  • Yep that's right :)

  • hahahahaha, ive had this song in my head all week after watchin the movie last week, lol...

  • it actually cant die, they freeze it and take it to antarctica to stay frozen until the sequel where a scientist finds it, breaks of a sample and later the sample thaws and turns into another blob

  • they freeze it and the army take it to antraticca it can't die

  • i never saw the ending how does it end how do they get rid of it (if)

  • Well they grab fir extingishures from around a high school (I think) and they freeze it over. They have a cliff hanger showing one of the side charicters (DSon t rember the name) is holding a piece of the blob that chipped off in a jar.

  • In a jar? Don't think so.

When the CO2 fire extinguishers freeze THE

BLOB,they ship it off to the Antarctic...where

it'll never thaw out. There was no "cliffhanger" as I remember.

It just said "The End" (?)

  • It may have been after credits... But I have the vido and it shows the dude holdin a bit of the blob in a jar.

  • That was the ending of the Blob in 1988. The minister was deluded that God would tell him when to commit murder.

In the original in 1958, they dropped it into the Arctic. Then it returned in 1972, when a bulldozer picked it up while installing the Alaska pipeline. That second one left much to be desired.

  • *pop* Beware of the blob! Hee hee hee never gets old!

  • this was how i began seeing my first horror movie at a theater. . never forget this song!!

  • heck yes!!! Beware of the blob!!! hahaha I have 2 dance 2 this song 4 dance class!!! lol

  • this music actually quite scares me guys.

  • I danced right through this movie.....

  • its very cheery for a horror theme song.

  • Didn't Steve McQueen try to buy up all the copies of this movie in his later days so no one would see this movie again, jeje!

  • My dad bourght this movie earlier this year. I watched it and LAUGHED! The Theme Tune itself had me in stiches. It's like they had never had horror music in those days!

  • If you go to the "retro cocktail hour" website, they have a streaming audio in their archive with this song in it. It's much higher quality and much longer.

  • Originally there was to be a sinister theme to play during the opening credits, but Paramount wanted them to make a song to attract teenagers, so they made this. As a result, this is different from the entire film.

  • not meaning to criticize for i truly appreciate that you uploaded one of the most unique intro's in sci-fi film history, but is there a possibility of getting a better quality video up? i would do so but the vhs I have of the original Blob isn't very good at all. Thanks!

  • Deos anyone know if the Blob sleeps? If so we can just wait until then and then blast it into space...problem solved.

  • One of the best 50s theme songs.....EAT on Blob!!!

  • I have this on a 45 rpm record. My rarest record. payed 5 cents at a goodwill store back in 1975

  • wasn't it composed by a young Burt Bacharach?

  • Yes it was!

  • yes

  • That's right, with the lyrics written by Mack David (Hal David's brother).

  • the film definitely peaks at this point. except perhaps that part where the nurse falls over the lamp after throwing the acid - that bit makes me roar with laughter in a most unladylike manner

  • first positive comment I've got on any of my videos lol. I'm not even a big fan of the movie but like I said best movie theme song EVER!
