These cartoon shorts - Disney, MGM, Bugs Bunny et al were shown at the beginning of movies as a warm up for movies. You know what they show these days? Commercials I can see for free at home. I pay 12 bucks to see a movie for the privilege of seeing a toothpaste commercial? Come on! Give me Heckle and Jeckle! Bugs and Daffy! Betty Boop! Bring back class!
A BILLIONNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNN TIMES I PREFER WATCHING ONE OF THESE CLASSIC TOONS, Than watching One New Johny Test on Cartoon Network.. New Cartoons, with very few exceptions, s uck DONG...
They wanted to make these Magpies the toughest cartoon characters - it's obvious! They have such sadistic ways for cartoon characters in comparison to their contemporaries. Yet you can't help but be amused by their nasty antics.
When I was a kid I usually rooted for the cartoon character who starred (well maybe not now that I think about it). My favorite moments watching Heckle and Jeckle were when they got their butts kicked at the end in some of the episodes by the dog.
Heckle and Jeckle, unknown to most viewers, possess powers surpassing any comic book character known to mankind. They are deadly and not to be trifled with! Popeye, Superman, Batman, The Fantastic Four, Spiderman, all of these superheroes have met a bitter fate at the ruthless wings of this deadly magpie duo. If you see them in person, evacuate the area with extreme prejudice!
@poopybooyah: back in the old days when cartoons died their life wasn't over, they just went to heaven and everything just kept on goin'. you know back when everything wasn't so serious and a joke was a joke and it didn't mean shit
Terrytoons and Walter Lantz were the low-budget studios of the classic animation era; they weren't Disney or Warner Brothers or MGM, but they still could come up with a great cartoon once in a while... this is one of them
Probably made around the end of WWII, since there's an atom bomb gag at the end, complete with a well-rendered mushroom cloud. Which of course is "poltically incorrect" by today's standards. Three cheers for political incorrectness!

I enjoyed watching Heckle and Jeckle as a kid. And I realize that this is just slap stick humor. But this cartoon is more violent than I remember it.
