If you check on wikipedia it cleary states. Singhalese is Indo-Iranian (aryan) people.

You can search even on youtube after "Yavanas" Indo-greeks" and Kambojas that was buddists at that time both had immigration to Sri Lanka trough big battles and wars all the way from todays afganistan and pakistan to sri lanka.
