  • do you know how much this truck would kick ass if it was nitro dude cmon make it nitro!!!! nice vid and truck btw!!!!

  • mr rummy i really need your help.i found a forum on google with pics of your truck and it had a red jeep cherokee body on it before the chevy.i wanted to know if you still had it and if so i will buy it off you.also still need some info on motor for my own 1/6 truck.please get back to me i dont want to start building till i have a body.

  • Was the body by chance at one time a lowrider body that had lambo doors? If so I have that and wondered if I could put it on something 4x4 like this.

  • take that electric thing out the water electric is so old go gas

  • @WiiProdigy Gas is not good for crawling.. not at all.. unless you like wasting gas.. imagine the gear reduction for something like a gas engine?

  • thats awsome but if you get tires with softer foam you will be able to tackle the focks super easy

  • GIVE MEEE!!!!! :o

  • I like the way you cut the shell to make it look like the windows are half open! Looks real neat!

  • what truck or car did that start out before you upgraded it and do all of this stuff

  • even runs like a chevy

  • just gotta figure out a front locker now... looking good !!

  • well yah, my fifth scale x factor is 7 years old now, still with the same ring and pinions that came in them. and 5 gallons of fuel later. it weighs every bit of at least 15 pounds, too. i have had a few bearing failures inside the diff cases, but never a ring or pinion failure. now, i have bought a few used x-factors, and some of them had blowed up diffs, but i'm not sure what they were doing with the truck, either.

  • i have a set under my fifth scale x-factor, a set under my fifth scale pulling tractor, i use one for the rear end in my 1/8th scale '32 ford, and i have another set that i put under an electric truck that is vaguely similar to yours. i've never had the gears try to separate, the only problem i have had is with the couplers on the axle shaft and on the diff output shaft. but red loctite cured those problems for me.

  • Hmmm..... you're beating on those pretty good? Sounds like they SHOULD take some punishment. I was thinking of making axle trusses to keep the flex minimal.

  • wow, that's crazy. i have at least 4 sets of those axles, and i've never had that problem before. what's the motor set-up in your truck???

  • What trucks do you have them on? I'm running (2) 7T Cobalt puller motors.

  • soo what fails on the x-factors axles???

  • @remotecontrolhorror

The diff gears. Ring and pinion stripping. I think it's because of the axle housing flexing though. The design of the housing is kind of poor, if it flexes then the mesh of the ring and pinion is lost and they can strip.

  • where did you get the body??

  • @digdug132

Sometimes they are on ebay but usually as a complete truck. Search for "jesse james silverado" and make sure it's that larger version. There is a smaller 1/10th version too.

  • I do believe you can buy a front locker that you can dissengage from the remote. also put a dual servo steering setup on it if you can only find a permanent front locker. Otherwise, Bad Boys Truck ya got there.

  • @Tbomb187

The traxxas summit has lockers that can be changed from the remote, problem is I'm using X-factor axles and I'd have to come up with my own custom way of doing it. They're not strong enough for me to put that kind of time and money into them anyhow. The servo in it now is plenty strong, even with a locker it'll still move the tires, the problem is the tires don't have enough traction to make it actually turn. Just the back locker reduced turning radius a lot.

  • Nice test track :)

  • Sure do! Go to beatyourtruck dot c om and i think it's actually posted on the home page.

  • do you have a build tread of this truck on a forum? very interested on what you used for parts, 4 links, drive shafts, shocks, electronics, etc. . .

i just started my project from a txt-1. extending the frame now, jumbo kongs in the mail, i have an evx2 esc and titan motors but i want to go brushless. have a 1/6 scale crewcab f-150 for the body. it will have an 18" or 19" wheelbase.

    sweet truck, thanx alot!

  • Not on my truck but yes there are transmissions you can use that discinnect the front drive shaft via an extra channel on the radio.

  • could you actually turn the truck to 4wd and then change it to 2wd by the controller?

  • Not a particular truck actually. It has parts from lots of different trucks.

  • what truck did this start as?

  • I built them from a couple different sets of wheels. They are 17mm hexes so they could fit on a maxx but would need adapters.

  • Where can I get the rims/tires? Would they bolt on a t-maxx 3.3?

  • id love to build one of those but wouldnt know where to begin

  • @crownviclvr

It's really not that hard if you have patience. Check out the beatyourtruck forums and you'll see all kinds of trucks being built.

  • congrats on makin the article in XRC i think i told you that a couple months ago. i read the article again yesterday and u have a badass truck

  • @rcdriver26

Thanks! I was actually just reading through that last night. I have it in my shop and seen the picture of my boy and couldn't believe how much he's grown!

  • what did this truck run you i mean to build if you dont mind me asking

  • @forresto69

I'm not sure exactly what it cost me since when I was building I did a lot of trading for things I needed. If you had to build it from the ground up buying new and used parts it'd probably run you $750 or so.

  • Well it really depends on what you want it to look like. The traxxas summit is waterproof and has the low gearing but it doesn't look like a real truck.

  • isnt the front diff locked?

  • @1501HP No it's not. I left it open because the turning radius was HORRIBLE with a locked front diff.

  • dude what tires are those and would they fit a t maxx

  • They are Imex Jumbo Kongs on custom wheels. Yes, they fit on maxx wheels but they are MASSIVE. They will almost touch other on a stock Maxx.

  • @nickrummy tru idk ima try if i ever find some lol

  • @nickrummy Yeah I have those tires on my Savage and they are HUGE. But they do look good on him.

  • dude what tires are those

  • Thanks everyone! Sorry, I've been busy and haven't had time to reply to comments. The truck is custom.

Check out beatyourtruck . com and search for Chevy Monster Truck and you'll find my thread.

Also if you get Xtreme RC magazine check out your July issue as it was featured in their magazine. It was called the "Junkyard Build"

  • THAT IS THE BADDEST ASS TRUCK IVE SEEN ON YOUTUBE!!! keep it up

  • did you build or where you get and hoe much would it be to buy/build one for me?

  • crap

  • You truck is awesome man... Where did you find a body that size?

  • who makes that?

  • ive seen the build thread for this and its good to see it running

  • is that a custom made

  • where did you get that truck and how much was it

    dude your truck is aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaasssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooommmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm

  • Sweet rig! Good job with it.

  • what did u water proof it with

  • Actually I didn't do anything. The motors are ok in water and so is the battery. The battery is pretty high up and in between a panel and the interior so it doesn't really get to wet anyways. The ESC and receiver are in the bed of truck so the only way they'll get wet is if the truck gets submerged.

  • i like your truck but mines faster bigger and better ruling at the jumps 12x3 inch tires 2 feet tall and kick ass acelleration

  • Got some pictures or videos of your truck?

  • dude your truck rules

  • where did you buy the axles?

  • I actually got them used in a trade but they are from an XTM X-factor. You can find them used on some RC sites or possibly ebay.

  • thanx for the fast replay

  • lmao chick with kid the in the backround "baby! lets go the babys cold!" dude with truck "no its not its pretty warmed up its climbin real good" haha

  • y isnt the front locked?

  • To help with the steering. If it was locked it wouldn't turn well at all. If it was slower I'd probably lock it but it does pretty well as is.

  • bad ass truck

  • your mrc on scale4x4 isnt looking to bad either you get the wheels fixed

  • awsome truck man. love high speeds

  • that ruck is such a beast one of my favs by far
