  • Best tune ever.

  • Finaly found! ! ! THANKS a LOT!

  • woop woop! havent heard this track in ages! dammit this one rocks

  • I used to go to the blue note in Hoxton square in '96 where the custom built speakers would make your glass vibrate across the table and you'd meet fit teenage girls on LSD. And I went to an Ed Rush gig in the triangle club in America Mura, Osaka in 2005 and had one of the best nights of my life. He is the fucking Don.

  • easily the best produced tune to ever come out of dnb I bet goldies kicking himself for never thinking of this!!!

  • it will forever be the best dnb sound there was (hopefully still is.... as history repeats it's self)

  • WTB bigger speakers. PC surround system can't even reproduce some of the frequencies.

  • I feel sorry for 2 people. Obviously relatives of Helen Keller...

  • The Torque album...nuff said

  • Proper dark tuneage, when will someone produce a fuckin tune like this again? Ed rush's jump around innit? Anyone who dosn't get this, Well what can you say, guess you just dont get it........

  • Maaaate.....wha happened to my faaace....

  • Quicklung knows what this shit was all about... fuck your warble throat bull shit DnB this was built for ten thousand people standing in a field or fucking warehouse...dirty made to massage hearts

  • HEAVIER THAN LEAD

  • Still playin' this tune. 3 Copies. 1 for the bag, 1 for the wall, and one for the vault! Reload!

  • Epic. Just epic!!! They don't make 'em like this any more.

  • Certified Househead....New to drum and bass......like this track......any more like this track?

  • @caroinawildcatsaau Most stuff by Ed Rush and Optical is really good, I'd suggest

Ed Rush and Optical - Chubrub

Ed Rush and Optical - Gas Mask

    Optical - Shape the Future

T-Power - Mutant Jazz Remix by DJ Trace

Yeah, anything by Ed Rush, Optical, Trace, Fierce, Matrix is pretty good really, and similar to this style. :D

  • @caroinawildcatsaau check out Dillinja - Angell's Fell or/and A Guy Called Gerald - Finley's Rainbow both very underated drum and bass classics

  • i hav dis track on repeat, then pursue my motha to beat the bitch Grrrrrrrrr!!!

  • what's a tech step? what steps should I take to avoid this happening to me?

  • AMAHGAAHD SIIICK!!

  • THIS, this is heavy!

  • How is d'n'b so wank these days? this is just dark to another level and its more than 10 years old!

  • Been a fan of this tube since its inception. Cannot stress enough how moody and real track is in the mix and as a stand-alone joint. Very influential to many heads and hopefully will continue to be.

  • always been a DNB luva - want midgets to dance on mt grave to this!!!

  • Dark - DnB ftw (DDnB)

  • So dark you could cut large dark chunks out of it and make dark pie

So powerful it could crush eardrums, ethical principles, and sphincters with ease

So sick it threatens to bring down civilisation with an epidemic of lovable wobbly sickness

    Thanks for this one

  • I absolutely love the inside-out bass on this tune.

  • one of the first dnb tune i heard, i fell in love and there was no turning back

  • wow, this sounds very similar to Art Of Noise - Ode to Don Jose (Dom and Roland Remix)

  • It was engineered by Dom, tbh i thought it was one of his when i first heard it.

  • Heard this really randomly and love this record. It's great when your going off to bed and turning the lights of and locking the houseup before you go to bed or am I just mad!? Anyway, I bought it of iTunes and its completely different, would anyone know where to the get the version thats the same as this? Could you private mail me? Cheers fellow junglists!!!

  • Dark Dark tune! All time favourite Drum and Bass. Still gets me moving like a fuckin loony tune. Genius

  • See when played on say an 80k MEGA FUCKING RIG SOUNDSYSTEM THE SIZE OF A FUCKING HOUSE whoever has been marking this down will understand what this is all about it would make you physicaly vomit or shit yourself!!!!!! Fuck the thumb downers on here go listen to ya 2009-2010 Jump Up Wobble Wank DNB This is the real fucking deal make no mistake this is more than 5 stars!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • This is the typical 96/97 hardstep darkside drum and bass that I know and love. If you want mor ebreaks like this then scroll through my favourites which are all carefully selected.

Jungle is 94/95 and did not incorporate the intelligence that is the amen, hardstep and bass this sort of tune offers. 96 was the year, 97 saw some equally good tunes, then 98 saw a new genre of more subtle slower scientific use of the bassline against a jazzier/calmer beat.

The sub genre is 96 darkside.

  • a tune from the darkness of them souls!

AMAZING...too bad there´s no more tracks like this this days...the amen break distorted is the soul of the track!

  • twight light zone bizniz, constructed with thought, another rude fm 88.2 tune, brap

  • well to me has jungle progressed on our manor we knew it as darkside music

  • Does anyone know what Drum and Bass subgenre this is? I thought it was Darkstep, but I listened to more songs of that style and it doesn't match. Nor do Techstep or Neurofunk. Any ideas?

  • who cares? stop making genres everyones to cracked out to remember em anyways.

  • I care. Because I like it and if I know the style, I might be able to find more breaks that I like.

  • it is what it is leave it at that. 99% of the time its going to be labeled as its main genre not a sub or sub sub genre.

  • oh, well, in that case. it does sound kind of dark and i guess you could step to it. lol.

  • dunno if ur still interested like but back then this was the original sounds of techstep, for further proof check out the techsteppin LP on emotif, its got loads of experimental rollers from the likes of ed rush, trace & nico. the term techstep was given to this style when mutant revistited came. Techstep dnb darkside as fuck ; )

  • @Norbert2 this came out when techstep was the new splintering of drum and bass that you couldn't get away from when you went out to parties at the time. it is dark, yes, but when this was new, it was just considered to be techstep. neurofunk wasn't even a used term at that time. i believe this metalheadz release came out around november 1996 officially in stores. if you were a dj who was trying to push the techstep sound then, you were playing this.

  • The structure is what makes this track what it is- you need to understand the concept of D&B before you can label it lame brother...!!!

Its an assault on the eardrums - standard.

  • ha at least its something different. i obviously don't know what ed rush was going for, but perhaps his main intent was to draw the most emphasis towards the deep rumbling bassline in the tune. i remember playing this to hell when i got the platinum breakz compilation.

  • oh my goody gosh! absolutely stonkin!!!

  • d902amo fukin word ! this shit is real
