Please. Steve wrote some great riffs, no doubt. But when it comes to mastering the instrument Phil has all the talent. I too saw them live during the Hysteria tour. You can watch the dvd and see for yourself that Phil is/was the better guitarist.

Steve Clark was the guitarist and one of the original members of Def Leppard. He died in 1991 after overdosing on a combination of alcohol and painkillers. He was responsible for some of the greatest guitar riffs Def Leppard ever produced. To be honest Def Leppard has not been the same band since his unfortunate passing. You can hear his work beginning with the On Through The Night album, all the way up through Hysteria. He is truly missed.

Uh ever read Animal Instinct? Steve pushed them into their first gig said he would leave if they did play a gig. In recent interviews(about The Sparkle lounge) in some mags Joe HAS minimized Steve so please unless you read those things you are the rude one. Now I'm done.

Please. Steve wrote some great riffs, no doubt. But when it comes to mastering the instrument Phil has all the talent. I too saw them live during the Hysteria tour. You can watch the dvd and see for yourself that Phil is/was the better guitarist.
The problem is that you can't get over Steve's death. It really has nothing to do with Def Leppard as a band. Steve overdosed and died from it so you find that the easiest one's to blame are the rest of the band. STEVE KILLED HIMSELF!!

I saw them on the high and dry tour with PETE so please. Hysteria and HND were world apart. STEVE WROTE the majority of it. Phil Collen has no talent. I suppose you think you know how to play too. I know many PROFESSIONAL guitar players who think Phil sucks. I'm not going to debate better players because you don't what what you're talking about. Phil Collen was/is always a far superior technically gifted guitarist when compared to Steve. Yes I do play and I don't give two shits who you know, Phil is an outstanding guitarist.
And for the record. The "loser's" as you called them, wrote this song in honor of Steve. As a matter of fact it was Vivian who wrote it. But I guess that doesn't matter either because in your eyes Vivian sucks too.

You really are stupid. It's not just DL that isn't making platinum records anymore. Poor record sales have been happening to everybody. The is a fairly new invention called the internet. People don't pay for albums anymore, they download them for free. Thus explaining the poor record sales since the early 90's. Steve Clark was the guitarist and one of the original members of Def Leppard. He died in 1991 after overdosing on a combination of alcohol and painkillers. He was responsible for some of the greatest guitar riffs Def Leppard ever produced. To be honest Def Leppard has not been the same band since his unfortunate passing. You can hear his work beginning with the On Through The Night album, all the way up through Hysteria. He is truly missed.

NO!!! They are living off of what they recorded as a band collectively. The last time I checked there were 5 of them when Steve was with the band. Sure he made great contributions but to try and hinge all their success directly upons Steve's membership is foolish. They are a BAND, which means more than one person.

Well, that is your opinion and you are entitled to it. I just think that Def Leppard is still great and still standing strong since everything they've been through. A lot of bands don't come close to being as brave as they are. I don't think they shit all over Steve's legacy either. Playing the songs that Steve wrote and helped right is a tribute to him in itself.
