Why would it be your last? Are we feeling a little bit old? :P A friend of mine was in a cancer bikeathon in Daytona last Saturday. It was in the 90's and felt like a sauna. I don't know what the humidity was, but considering it started pouring rain that night, and didn't let up for most of the day Sunday, I'd say it was WAY up there! But then, we're used to that here.
Not old it's just hard mentaly to train for something so long and have weather or my own body fail and not be able to run what I want to run. I wanted to break 3 hours instead my time was 5:45. Finishing it is great but I worked hard to run better. I'll probably run more but I need to figure out whats going on and why I can't run them all the time.
28...I'm unpredictable. I never know what I'm going to be able to run day to day. I can do everything perfect and rest up and I can either run well or bad. I know there are going to be times when I'll run bad but it happens a lot. Marathons are too long of races to run bad in. There was a point when I just said, "this is going to be a long day" because my legs were tired too soon. It's hard to explain that feeling. Having your body give up on you even though you want to keep going is hard.
Hello.. Fibromyalgia here! I know that feeling very well. I spent my entire adult life teaching aerobics, then got hit with this stupid hereditary, exhausting, painful disease. After 16 years teaching aerobics, at age 32, I had to switch to yoga. I managed to do that for 6 more years. Then 4 months ago I had to quit. This is the first time in 21 years that I CAN'T do what I've been trained for, my whole life.
That is a really cool video, thank you for putting it together and for posting it... Good luck with all your running.. :)

Good job on finishing during mentally tough conditions! Why was it so hot last year?? I thought it is supposed to be cold in October.

Thanks, I just signed up to do it again!
For the weather: bad luck I guess. Woke up in the morning and it was a sauna at 5 AM. First one I ran it was 30 at the start.

how late do you think there will be room?
pajamadude15 3 years ago
Last year I signed up 3 hours before it closed it was two days after Boston. So I think it will fill up within a week or two.

88 is chilly!
debpoli 4 years ago
80% humidity and running a marathon! It was so bad the marathon was closed during it and a lot of people were forced to stop.
Nickrun 4 years ago
I bet! 88 is balmy but I know running in it would be miserable...
debpoli 4 years ago
This morning it was 55!!! Two days later and perfect weather.
