Wasn't Luger attacked in the back earlier in the night to make sure he couldn't come out and help Savage? Or am I mistaking this for another situation?
@dpk209210 Oh yeah. The night Tatanka's undefeated streak ended. I also kind of mistook this for when Yoko defended the title against Savage a few months later, Crush came out and interfered, so both Luger and Bret Hart were out there to stop a possible repeat from this night.
A Fuji-Crush reunion. All we needed now was for Repo to become Smash again, and you'd have a reunion of the 90-91 version of Demolition. They would've made good mercenaries to try to help Yokozuna to retain the title.
RIP BRIAN ADAMS AND RANDY POFFO YOULL NEVER BE FORGOTTEN 4 ALL YOUR CONTRIBUTIONS TO THE ENTERIANMENT INDUSTRY.BUT HOPEFULLY YOU CAN MEET 1 DAY AGAIN .
his best were when he was the clean face classic hawaii crush and with demolition which was sweet! when he came back as this that was a rap for his career!!
It's so sad that all three of them are dead now.... Yokozuna, Crush, and Randy Savage. Not to mention that I have heard Bobby Heenan's health hasn't been so good over the past year.
Just got the word today, that Randy savage died in a car crash! damn not randy.. best known for his catch phrase "oh yeah!!" dig it"he was 58 there was not intoxicated. he might suffered a heart attack or something. he will be missed .i grew up watching him in 1980's and 1990's my condolences go out to him and his family!
REVENGE TODAY!!!! RANDY SAVAGE HAS DIED...NA NA NA NA HEY HEY HEY GOOD BYE RANDY...OHHHH YEAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH
Back in wrestling when psychology was the game, see how the crowd appreciated something simple as that. Crush struggling on the mic and colorful Randy Savage before he went to WCW.
This is part 3 of how bad the wwe officials were in helping Randy Savage when he needed help. 1991: Jake Roberts had his cobra bite into Randy. Then slapped Miss Elizabeth. 1992: Razor Ramon attacks Randy after Savage lost the title to Ric Flair. It took the Ultimate Warrior to get Savage out of harms way.
This would have been Randy Savage's last major storyline in the WWE here during this program with Crush. He otherwise died a slow death there during his last 6 months with the company. And yet people complain about how WCW underutilized him.
They the whole angle of Crush turns on Randy Savage was stupid. It made NO sense. Since when was Savage and Crush all of a sudden so chummy? How many times have they even atleast teamed up together? It problaby would of made more sense to have Crush turning on the Repoman more than Macho even though Repo was a heel and jobber at the time, but atleast they had the Demolishion history together...
@gtz1975 well in real life they were best friends. secondly what makes a better wrestlemania match and feud...crush vs savage or crush vs repo? yea my point is proven
@charismatic9904 I understand oviously Savage is a BIGGER name than Repoman, but my piont is that they should of done a better job building up the Savavge/Crush freindship before having the Crush turning on Savage angle...
@gtz1975 I thought the same thing when I watched this back in the day... I said to myself "Sheesh" who even know they were buddies?
Crush already fought Repo man at Summer Slam (92?) I thought it was interesting and they could of drawn that out a bit. Instead they turned it out to be a virtual squash match. A Demoliton vs Demolition would of been a hell of an undercard draw.
YUP thats right 1993 wwe superstar roster had future NWO superstars Lex lugar, Crush, machoman, 123 kid, razor ramon and deisel Hulk hogan , Mr perfect. ( 1996-98 ) .
The WWF used feuds like this to sell pay per views. Why would Randy Savage have to wait until the next ppv to settle his score with Crush? He would want to settle it as soon as his injury healed. Lame.
@scottvska erm ... thats what wrestling is about you fucking idiot. its a performance art aimed at making the consumer buy a pay-per-view to watch action they cant see on television.
@ianhitman That's what I said. Did you have to repeat what I said to hurl an insult at me, or does being reminded of your own stupidity fill you with embarrassment? Vince McMahon made his fortune off the gullible minds of people like yourself whom he suckered into buying ppvs. He has to be thankful the world is full of morons when he looks at his balance sheet every month.
@scottvska Uh, yeah. That's exactly what McMahon and the WWF did. What is your point, exactly? TV shows are there to advertise the PPVs, where the real money is made. The TV shows used to be used to sell tickets to house shows (non-televised wrestling events) but when PPV came about they focused on them, instead, as they could make more money that way. That's why Vince does what he does-to make money. It might sound shocking to you, but that's why most people work and own businesses.
@scottvska Vince is no different to you or I. He's just more successful than either of us. That's all it is. You try to demonise the dude for making money, and accuse other posters of stupidity because they agreed with you. EVERYONE knows why Vince is a wrestling promoter, just like everyone knows why Ridley Scott is a film director. To make money. Do you load Blade Runner videos to say 'Ridley just made this to sell to people' or are your ridiculous comments limited to WWE's videos?
@scottvska For the record, I have NEVER purchased a WWE PPV, aside from a video of Summerslam '92, despite having been a fan of wrestling for around 20 years. I get the feeling you thought you were somehow imparting wisdom upon us mere wrestling fans, and so grew frustrated when that other guy confirmed that selling PPVs is indeed Vince's strategy, and struggled to see the logic in your argument. Sorry dude, but we are aware of how this stuff works. We even know wrestling is fake!
This feud made no sense. It was not Randy Savage's responsibility to intervene in the match. Yokozuma should have been disqualified. And besides, Crush was never in any real danger. He looks healthy to me.
I remember watching this match as a little 12 year old kid. I was so terrified tha Randy's mouth was shatered when Bobby said on commentary: "Look, he knocked all of his teeth out!" If you look at the footage it actually looks like he fell on his mouth on the barricade. Savage was so good at selling. Ah! The golden years of wrestling. Truly can never be duplicated again.
This was a big deal at the time and one of the 'old school' heel turns. Crush, in kayfabe, had a point here. Savage didn't do anything when Crush was getting 'crushed' (no pun intended) by Yokozuna over and over again. What a great angle this was, and people really bought it
@msm1876 Yes. And one more thing, I've never been a fan of storylines where the heels made sense in their actions or had clear motives as to why they turned heel that made sense, because heels are supposed to be mean, cowardly, and just all around 'bad' people. When heels make sense, it makes the babyface look weak, especially when fans know deep down the babyface fucked up (with whatever he did to fuck up), thus it makes the heel kind of babyfaceish by default. This is one of those storylines
What makes me laugh. Back then a wrestler turns heel it would be for years and could really affect their impact. Now days they turn on a dime. Wrestlars can be as evil as they want. All they have to do is save a day and their heroes.
@Edgehead10075 Macho Man sure did get his revenge at Wrestlemania 10 he tied crush up to a excersise machine i think it was and as a result crush was unable to make the 10-count and lost!
Boo the poor-sport fans who booed Bobby and Master Fuji. They were just annoyed that those two geniuses managed such great talents. In the end, Crush showed he was much power powerful than Macho Man. Yokozuna just made Macho look even weaker and more helpless with that Bonsai Splash at 9:04-9:06.
I had just gotten into wrestling here, and to me it was totally and completely real. Crush was one of my favorite wrestlers here. I cried like a baby when I saw this happened.
You know what, Savage was one macho motherfucker. And he was man enough to make a dude piss himself while wearing sparkly reflective sunglasses and waist length arm tassels on his yellow cowboy jacket.
For a second, at 6:15, it looks as if Crush is going to hit Savage and then remembers that the script calls for Savage to raise his hand first.

BTW, Crush and Savage were real life friends. Crush was even Savage's bodyguard at one time.

Crush was much more powerful than Macho Man! I am also glad Master Fuji got the respect he deserved!
