  • That Cus Ur Fat Delta2334rockstar111

    Ha

  • wow, great comeback, you are SO mature*claps hands*, yeah.....you kinda got blocked too...*pulls lever*

  • lol at the part when R2 discovered the other droid eating HIS food.

i would get mad too if someone stole my food.

  • this was such a great video

  • wow. when you said to watch the video(i saw your comment in box the epic motion picture), you said it was great............

it was not great, it was EPIC AND AWESOME!!!!! I LOVED IT! FAVORITED!

  • Thanks for the very generous comments. When I said "it was great" I was actually talking about the other video (Box...). I know my video has many flaws. Thanks again for watching.

  • I like it much more than "Clone Wars" ;)

  • great job dude this is in my favorites i loved when R2D2 asked for the key great animation dude cant wait to see more

  • lol "dude you said balls!" awsome 5/5

  • Great job Ken. fun too. :]

  • how much does cinema 4d cost

  • About $2400 USD for the version I use (although I got mine as a student copy for about $600) not cheap either way. Thanks for watching.

  • What music did you use for this? Specifically the track that starts around 2:21

  • The music is original. I did put a Star Wars motif in here or there as a nod, but the music is original. I did use Acid Pro with loops from The Sony Orchestral Suite to give the score a more symphatic feel, but I did not use anyone's music.

  • 5/5

    cool

How long did it take you to make this fantastic movie?

  • 6 months give or take. I put in an average of 30 hours a week on it for the last four months. Thanks for watching, I'm glad you enjoyed it.

  • Awesome job! Good dedication too. I'm well impressed.

  • EXCELLENT work Ken!!! Thats amazing animation, you are very talented indeed. Its gone in my favs.

  • shits the key lol 5/5

  • Very nice homegrown video. Much better than most SW items you see here. Just make sure you use this in your resume to the gaming companies. I presume your looking for a job as a 3D animator?

    5 stars

  • Not really (unfortunately). I am too old and too set into my current quality of life to take on an entry level position in the [competitive] 3D animation industry. This was just a "practice" film for a much more ambitious and totally original piece I'm currently working on to maybe "break in" at a more established level (can't provide for three kids, a wife, and a fat mortgage on a jr. roto-scoper's salary!) Thanks for watching though, and thanks for the support.

  • Thanks (I think)

  • Having your movie too slow, using balls, nuts (slang) language makes it informal, rude or what ever you call it. I am very interested in your stuff....... Real real good stuff. Stuff= 100 Creactivity= 20 that is the weak point. Pm me or subscribe me if you have any these kind of work..... Real hard work, needs development though.

  • Great work, i respect your har work. you just are not talented in interesting stories.... (No offence)i am not talented too. But you just didnt choose a good subject to work on. Your videos could have at least 10 honors if you did the anakin vs obi-wan fight in 3-d.

I didnt hear any music that is a reaseon too... Choose more interesting ones. It doesnt feels right with a boring music...

  • EXTREMELY well done!!! Modelling, texturing, rendering, animation... Everything! Great story and music as well! ;O)

  • Lol very creative.

  • that was funny ;p

  • Very Funny! I enjoyed watching every second of it! How long did it take?

  • Thanks. It took about 6 months at roughly 30 hours a week (Not my day job)

  • very entertaining, a neat perspective of the genre

  • What are you talking about? There is no offensive language in my film. Are you talking about words like "Nuts" or "bastard"? or the term "massage device"? Ask your parents to monitor your internet usage better if you are so easily offended. It's not like I said "Fuck You" or "Eat my shit". Now that would be offensive.

  • I loved it!

  • Thanks

  • Good work, but speed it up.

  • Thanks. I agree that it is slow. A lot of the scenes are gratuitous to showcase the 3D re-creations of the original SW sets. Thanks for watching.

  • BBBBBOOOORRRRIIINNNGGG!!

  • BBLLOOWWMMEE!!

  • thats one psycho droid

  • verry good!!!!! lol :)

  • Hey ken, I don't know if you got my PM, but here I go on a message in here. I think that it is NOT too long, and genuinely has some funny bits...Music from 02:11 with a very nice bit at 02:48 going to the shots proves to me you have great potential as a filmmaker.

  • Mike - I'm a big fan of both your animation and your documentary stuff, so It's quite a compliment to hear you liked my little project. I did get your PM, but I'm in the process of moving, and haven't had consistent computer access. Thanks again. I look forward to seeing more of your work.

  • Kendunn keep the good work!! if you keep doing good stuff like this, you will get to make master pieces!!!

Wish you the best!! and thanks for this fun animation.

  • it was kinda boring but well done at least :)

  • really nice animations, good work man, keep it up!

  • geez, I thought it was another episode of ROBOT CHICKEN

  • Really well done!

  • yeah that was super boring.

  • Sorry you feel that way. Thanks for watching.

  • boy if you dont produce that key directly i will be forced to forgo my playful and child-like demeanor and consider a course of uncivilized action that you and i will both will regret

  • Oh man that takes very longto load.

Not bad but the Droids are to tall, R2D2 is a little bit more ...well... round...

  • Unfortunately YouTube forces your video into a 4:3 aspect ratio. My video is actually in cinemascope. Between this and the low resolution, my little film looks a lot worse on YouTube. Thanks for watching!

  • Oh sorry, i didn't kow that^^

  • Dude, great vid. No doubt about that..Simply amazing. And the 'dialog' was pretty damn funny, to say the least ;)

But I gotta agree with some of the others, it is kinda boring.

But hell, ya got more skills than some of the people making crap Hollyweird movies nowadays, so keep it up!

    5 outta 5

  • Amazing work, man! You should totally work with the Tales from the New Republic fan site! They have some awesome stuff, too, and could probably use an amazing animator like yourself! Very lifelike droids, VERY good job! Five stars all the way!

  • dude, wtf!

This is totally and fucking boring.

shitty story, barely a story :s

a shame of some nice skills in ani. where's some fucking action.

  • All and all a good looking video, but pretty boring story. I only got through 6 minutes.

  • very nicely done

    5/5

and shouldn't the Imperial ship be a Star Destroyer?

i can't remember what ship it was in Ep.IV

  • The ship was a Imperual Class Star Destoryer yes and the ship in that was also a Star Destoryer

  • Very nice mi mini animation movie. I like SW as you.

  • ACCLAMATOR CRUISERS DON'T BANK LIKE AIRPLANES!

small tip: check on the starwars wiki before trying to make an awesome starwars movie.

P.S. everything else is qiute accurate. i even see the aurabesh text on the vending machine was correct. translated to english letters it meant Error! you did a fine job.

  • While I always appreciate a viewers comments and constructive criticisms, I have to take exception with asedtf. First of all this is a film taking place about a half hour before episode IV (about 16 years before you were born in Earth years).

  • The Acclamator Cruiser didn't appear in a Star wars film until Attack of the Clones. This is an Imperial-I type Star Destroyer Like the one I saw in 1977. Since you are so versed in AuraBesh The sides of the vending machines say "Ken Dunn is God" since I made everything in this Universe - it seemed appropriate. When this class of Star Destroyer makes a hard to port in desperate pursuit of Rebel Thieves, they bank like airplanes!

  • lol this was priceless! i hope to see some of your work be on front page!

  • On the juice machines it says Ken Dunn, in AuraBesh. Oh, yeaaa! Cool rigging and modeling, but the ligthning was kinda trashy while R2 was working in the red room. Plus, try next time using some other format. It seems YouTube forces it to fit 4 by 3. Which is horrible, since I have a 16 by 10 monitor, so all my renders are like that. But, great job, 6 months well spent.

  • dude you did a Really good job with the 3D animation

  • this awesome

  • lawl awesome

  • Very well done! You have inspired me. 2 questions:

About how long did it take you to make this vid?

Is using Cinema 4D more efficient (or easier) than 3DS Max?

    Again very well done!!

  • Thanks TDM999. It took roughly 6 months at about 30 hours a week (not my day job as you can probably tell). I don't think there is a big difference btw C4D and 3DS Max. But I am not as familiar with 3DS Max.

  • lmao r2 got anger management problems!

  • i think it is too long considering the amount of content there is. you could easily cut out a lot of pointless shots which would do a lot to keep the audiences attention, even the hard core fans

  • hey dude if your looking for some one to edit a film i might be able to help although your stuff is alot beter i edited this one film but realy i only added to existing vids if you want to check it out look up my vids

  • those are some mean little robots lol. loved it =]

  • Honestly I thought this was REALLY good it was just a really good Idea and very well implemented made me laugh to beat the band. Im nuts in 3d stuff myself and this was sheer genius.

  • Thanks for all the kind words of encouragement!

  • Very well done guys! Wich 3d programs did you use?

  • I don't really thing length would affect their choices sides its already funny enough and doesnt seem like any people can do anything better

  • And thanks Ajaxdoom2 for saying it is already funny!

  • I have a challenge for any budding video editors out there. This video has been twice rejected By the Atom Films SW Fan Contest. I have infringed on no copyrights (although those snacks do look a lot like Twinkies),so I have to assume it is just not good enough. If you can describe an edit of DROID RAGE using the existing media (shots, music, etc - but maybe changing the script, sub-titles, plot, whatever) I will give you the raw files, and credit so WE can re-submit to Atom.

  • Is it maybe too long?

  • It's not too long to qualify for the contest, but it is pushing the reasonable limit for a short film contest. The first part is gratuitous and kind of boring for a general audience, but I made it for hard core episode IV fans with sets and characters out of the "first" movie. The jokes and the plot in general is kind of weak though and that's why I'm asking for a collaborator.

  • awesome!

  • I like the astromech's threat to the bots. I never knew they could talk...i thought they just give you ammo (thinking of Battlefront) and i always called them "garbage bots"...crazy robots....

  • ROFL great job! wish I knew how to do this kind of thing....or had the patience

  • SWEET!

  • Nice

  • More background sounds would help a lot. I ran out of time. I actually made this little flic for hardcore Star Wars geeks like myself. The "Gonk" droid or power droid is a staple (albeit under-emphasized) character in the SW Universe. They only say "gonk" and they are nothing more than a battery with legs. I thought it would be funny [ironic] if they ridiculed the astromech droids for their incomprehensible language.

  • Who made thet 500 Carackter limit on youtube?! Ok, what I wanted to add:

The Musik is GREAT! It fits in, and it was worth the efford to make something on your own.

  • I know it is a weak premise for a "joke" but I'm not a writer (unfortunately). Thanks for watching. Thanks for commenting

  • Very nice! Some points may still need some more attention:It seems a bit sterile and "dead",because there is no ambience sound.Whirrs,Beeps of the machinery,a silent humming of the ships engine etc.The bots make no noise while moving,it all feels like I'm deaf on one ear.

A small error at the end,the box-bot is talking to a protol unit as there was no language problem. That's odd,or was"Mr.Moop-Moop"just joking around with r2d2?Maybe hey should use a funny language in between, like BeepBeepMooop.

  • wow very nice ken, nice animations, must have been a bitch to render lol

  • It was a bitch to render this 10 min of film noodlsix, but I did it entirely on my old Pentium IV laptop. I shortened my render times significantly with some tricks that I'd be happy to elaborate on if you want. Just drop me a line.

  • that would be great, im using 3ds max 9 and unfortunately im plagued with horrible render times (up to 30min per frame)

  • Hilarious!

  • wtf

  • Great work. Good story.

  • whats that music at 2:15? .It sounds familiar

  • All the music is actually original, it's a combination of royalty free loops from Sony's Orchestral Suite, some motifs from John Williams that I re-did in MIDI to avoid license infringement and some original stuff I performed on an acoustic guitar. At 2:15 it's mostly loops and guitar (no MIDI). Thanks for watching.

  • This was so funny and cool but the only part i thought was wrong was how fast the star destroyer turned but exept for that awsome work

  • AMAZING WORK KEN! Wow...

  • great work ken dunn, but i must say,(no offence) but i think it took too long, and not very entertaining, but great work,. very impressed.

  • Thanks for taking the time to look at my little project. And thanks for all the comments. I use Cinema 4D and I try to do everything "in the shot" so there is little or no compositing (although I do project background plates (that I generate in 3D)for complex animations to shorten render times). I use Adobe Premiere for editing, and finally Cakewalk and acid pro for music composition and sound track stuff. Thanks again.

  • I have to say that it was impressive with the tools you have on hand, I would go so far as to say I consider it art....peace little brother and keep cranking them out.

  • Very impressive. I know i could never have done that. The jokes were feeble...maybe, but what really got me was the amazing graphics and the "Star Wars" feel to the short film. You deserve every right to be given a 5 out of 5 or even more.

  • Great models dude, keep it up! The lighting and textures are preatty amazing too.

    What software did you use?

  • this is like "The Office" but with droids the same ship different day made me laugh

  • Thanks everyone for the kind comments and encouraging words. It's an honor to have buckeroohawk and EricHass3D to even look at my stuff having seen the great work you guys have done. Thanks everyone. I'll keep working on it!

  • this is so cool! i hope you make more! this is so amazing. i say that i am immpressed! 5 stars man, 5 stars!

  • GREAT!

  • This was really great! That's a lot of work for one individual to put in, and I hope you get the recognition you deserve.

  • Ken,

Your work is exceptional. Character animation is some of the toughest CGI work there is, but "Droid Rage" is a lot of fun to watch. You should be proud of it. I'm looking forward to seeing more of your work here.

  • It didn't fit together as well as I had hoped. My hopes in putting it on You Tube was for Star Wars fans to get a look at my renderings of some of the original sets from Episode IV. Thanks again

  • its kinda kool but kinda boring too sorry 3out of 5

  • Thanks for the honest comment. It wasn't planned out very well to be honest. I started it to enter the Atom Films Star Wars Fan Film contest, but half way through my original story I read the guidelines more carefully and discovered it had to be a spoof if it were taking place in the SW universe, so I did a 180 and added a couple of weak jokes to make it more of a "Spoof".

  • thats crazy and i love it.....its so cool im gonna subscribe

  • cool i hope you make another one

  • lol at 3:02 and 3:30 XD

also... stupid snack machine at 5:05

    6:35... lol...

7:20... omg... its the escape pod... oh... w8... nvm... lol

    man amazing graphics

  • good , but a little boring :(

  • I loved it. You have to be a real Star Wars fan to fully get it at points. Work on your storyboards more on your next project and you'll do great. I've been promoting you all over YouTube dude.

  • Hilarious !

  • Lol,this is like Heroes 5 underground music LOL!!Anyway this rocks and keep it doing

  • You got talent, but i didn't find this movie very interesting

  • Interesting idea. Very well done.

  • awesome make more

  • Thanks! I am working on something original - Sadly, as a one person operation it will be months before I have something ready. I just wish folks could see this at a higher resolution. I put a lot of detail in the sets that can't be seen on youtube! - Thanks again for the encouragement!

  • i cant just stop watching it. I have a question for you: Will you make some more of this kind?

  • Very good. make more

  • Was that Heroes5 at 08:30?

  • Are you talking about the music or the set? Either way no (I assume you are refering to the video game). Thanks for watching and for taking the time to comment!

  • yes the music! It sounded alot like the one from the underground in heroes5(the PC game) anyway nice video pretty funny especially the candy machine :D

  • No. Actually the music was original (although some of it was loop based and some was a motif from Star Wars) maybe we used some of the same orchestra loops (I had never heard of Heroes5 until your question. Thanks again!
