  • 3:14 LMFAO

  • @smoshunite101 especially juxtaposed with Top of The World

  • Poor Richard, he barley wanted to say "Tom Burris" you can tell.

  • 2:45 ...SCARY!!!

  • The therapist really was a DICK!

  • From watching these documentaries on them it seems like Karen really never "had a voice of her own". Her folks seem overprotective, the fact that she wanted to stay at the drums and was told to leave them when she didn't want to, her identity was playing drums. Once you take away someone's identity ..... I just wish she had more confidence in herself when it came to business.

  • @rockinrex

It was a double edge sword. She was the voice people came to see but they couldn't if she have stayed behind the drums

  • So sad :( Such a waste

RIP Karen, the voice of an angel!!

  • This is the most passionate and emotional I've ever seen Richard in an interview about his sister. The man is so upset, and I can't blame him! I really feel bad for him. He loved his sister, and what this eating disorder did to his sister was enough to make him angry.

  • it was easy to put on the shelf because it sucked. he took this beautiful voice and made her sound like any other pop star. sad.

  • i wont call that doc a quack because there wasnt enough info about anorexia at the time, but richard was right to have reservations. she obviously wasnt getting better.

  • This husband seems a bit older than her.

  • Tom was 10 years older then Karen.. and he had a 18 year old son from his first marriage..

  • Poor Karen

  • Karen had planned on going public about her eating disorder...the talk show route, etc. She was blindsided by this interviewer and wanted to deal with her struggle when she was ready. Unfortunately she didn't live long enough to do what she had intended.

  • There was one interview I saw on youtube where she really DID deny her anorexia. It was so sad, I think maybe had she been more open about it, she'd have gotten alot of support from teh fans who loved her and I don't know maybe she might have survived, but we'll never know..

  • Denial is part of annorexia.....its the feeling of having power (and the need to have) over something yourself...that is part of the disease.

  • i always wonder how many people Karen Carpenter actually manage to save by dying herself of anorexia....

  • @Lucienofficial I'm living proof there's at least one person to add to whatever the statistic is. I do wonder whether eating disorder awareness would have evolved at all if it weren't for Karen's tragic passing. Wish it could have happened without her dying ;(

  • "No....I was just pooped. I was tired out." WOW ! Absolute DENIAL to the very end. So sad.

  • she knew she had a problem by that time but didn't feel she owed the public the truth. not quite yet.

  • Most anorexics are in complete denial. It's hard for them to admit that they have a problem.

  • This is really random...but Richard is really good at remembering dates. hah.

    Thanks so much for posting!

  • If anything else, Karen having this disorder woke the public up about the seriousness of this condition and made people aware that this is a disease that needs to be treated as soon as possible.

  • Well the cat was out of the bag she was poohed out. who wouldnt be?

  • Omg Poor thing was in denial

  • I think she just didnt want to air her dirty laundry on TV. I mean she was there to talk about her music not her eating disorder.

  • Wow! Can't believe what KC just said in the last part of this video.
