I have 2 cocktail birds but what's weird is that they never eat there seeds instead they wander around like nomads in the cage eating paper and other things. Also they never eat there seeds only when I hand feed them :(
Have you had kili sexed or do you just assume shes a girl? I have a senegal and I assume he's a boy. I wanted to get him sexed but I'm afraid it'd be to traumatic for him
@johncena0123456 I took care of a Budgerigar before. However, I don't believe in starter birds or birds for children. You can see my video/article for thoughts about that topic.
@kiliparrot how can I train target to my budgie he does not bite the stick at all and was you budgie (duke) clipped for a while? And how do I train the recall trick but my budgie steps up though
Kili is smart and beautiful. I'm a fan. I love seeing happy companion birds and people who put so much time and effort into keeping their pet so happy :-)
a question for you about kili...wat words can she say?
it is a female right?
i own a female senegal and she is about 11 weeks and she allready does the sexy wistle and she is trying to imitate a few more things...how old was kili when doing her first imitating?
@kiliparrot hello my senegal talks little but she says her name maggie and she can do this high pitched whistle i can do. i kept doing it in the house and suddenly she mimiced me. now if i do it she does it. can u help me on training? she bites way too much.
Ha! When I first taught my Senegal to roll on her back (nearly 17 years ago!) She thought it was the most fun in all the world. She would also roll over in her cage all the time when she saw I was looking and just laugh to get my attention. These are probably my favorite species of parrot. Well done with your videos... your hard work and diligence with these birds has really paid off for you.
i realy think birds should be kept in pairs, or more for there sanity. many birds perform tricks for there owner out of bordome and desperate lonelines when on there own. kind of sad realy. my birds are allways chatting playing and being quite happy to be just birds, and not a little show-piece for its owner. get the camera out of its face and get it a companion.
@lemurfan123 At this point in time it is not believed that any non-human animal is capable of using language. However, the Alex studies have been demonstrating a limited ability use referential labeling in Psittacines. Most parrots can mimic sounds, vocalize, and some can imitate human speech.
Senegals, the most awesome parrots :D

senegal parrots have a big personality and are a bit hyper compared to other parrots (except caiques of course) which makes them so special!

Use the DNA method by collecting a discarded feather. Not traumatic at all.

@cjocd Kili just says hello and does the cat call on rare occasions. She didn't really start doing any vocalizations until closer to one year old.

hey mate can u tell me how did u lean him say hello
navpk 1 year ago
@navpk
repetition. say it slowly and let the bird see how your mouth and tongue move. Later when you say it, try to say it the exact same way every time.
My bird used to say "hello" when the phone rang =)
And for you hockey fans out there he used to be able to do the first 5 notes of the Hockey Night In Canada theme song.
