@Seqtopus It keeps you in rhythm while marching and also boosts morale. When you get really tired after long marches it takes your mind of the pain as well.

Cycosfireball, I appreciate what the Coast Guard does. I have nothing against them. But why would your husband leave the Army Special Forces for a branch in the military that isnt in much combat? Shooting combat, hand to hand.

@xxxhawkazi please refrain from using this kind of brainless, vulgarity on my videos. You don't see me insulting other branches of service. That's my hubby in that video, who served 10 years in the Army Special forces, before becoming a Coast Guard company commander, he is now overseas, serving in Kuwait. So I'd appreciate if you could keep your nonsense to yourself....I was under the impression that we all defend the same country TOGETHER, not against each other... but apparently I am wrong..

@xxxhawkazi boot camp sucks regardless. If you join the Marines and have boot camp in San Diego you will see some Coast guardsmen. Feel free to talk shit to them. Personally I respect anyone who serves regardless. The ones who join the Guards are respectable and honorable people in my opinion. The things they do at sea and during war time is admirable to say the least.

@nixtux2003 amen. I was in the recruiting process for the Marines for a while. Suddenly it hit me that i was planning on joining the marines for nothing more than to prove myself. I realized the coast guard is the best for me personally, and it truelly doesnt matter what branch you are in, it matters why you join and what you make of it. The broad mission of the Coast Guard makes me feel welcome.
