Yes it was all caused by Andre's "suspension" for a no show that Hennan orchestrated. Hennan's stable then was out to unmask him all over the country it started in spring and went through the summer with the "Hulk Machine" and "Piper (then face)Machine" filling in for Blackjack Mulligan in main events in NY, Boston, Baltimore etc. versus Studd, Bundy, and the rest.
This is the same song but not the original instrumantation! Does anyone here know where I can hear the original theme these guys walked in the ring with?
At the time, as I remember it, wasn't there some controversy (Story angle) with Andre because he was suspended for something, so he took on this character? Part of the angle was to unmask him to prove that it was Andre?
I just can't remember. How did the story conclude?
This is a re-recording of the Machines theme, however it is NOT the original recording used in the WWE in 1986. The one actually used was first used as a heel theme for Andre the Giant in New Japan back in the very early 80's. When he became Giant Machine in '86, he used that same theme, which was also used in the WWE for the Machines.
Yep, they DID have theme music, and this was it. I remember seeing them at Maple Leaf Gardens in Toronto, and thinking how cool their song was. (Specifically, because I thought it sounded like it would fit a spooky, bad guy better.) Made them seem kinda scary.
the machines did in fact have entrance music which was rare in 1986 if you watch the machines with the "piper" machine vs studd/bundy/heenan at boston garden you here it at the end of the match
This actually was a theme made for Andre the Giant in Japan. I've never seen proof of this being a theme of The Machines. It's one of those old theme myths people made up so they'd have more to "trade."
"In the fall of 1986, the World Wrestling Federation introduced a stable of wrestlers called The Machines -- "The Giant Machine" (André the Giant), "Big Machine" (Blackjack Mulligan), and "Super Machine" (Bill Eadie) -- based on Junji Hirata's popular Super Strong Machine gimmick."
They should totally bring back the machines, Cena Machine orton Machine, would be awesome.
