Deryk Engelland crushes Marc Savard

I am a Pens fan, and Matt Cooke could leave tomorrow and I could care less, but Deryk Engglend plays the game tough, not dirty. Things happen so fast out there, & when Savard reached for the puck he became very vulnerable. Number 5 could hurt people every game if he wanted, and he may have the biggest right hand in hockey (ask Colton Orr), but he is not a head hunter, he has worked hard at every level, and he's great on and off the ice. I'm happy for 1 of the stand up guys in this league.

Engelland isn't dirty, but that was not a good hit. His arms went into the head. He did everything right, accept that. He didn't hit him from behind, or headhunt, but the push-through did force Savard's head into the boards. I'm a Pens fan, love Engelland, but I have to call that a bad hit.

Yes, he is a dirty player, but you whining about it, isn't making Savard any less sensitive to light, or making simple tasks easier. I agree, Cooke is a piece of shit to take a guy out who was possibly one of the best playmakers to play the game, but shut your fucking mouth already.

@psythen44 well, i am an Engell fan, so i could be a bit biased. DK is a tough player, but i havent seen him go head-hunting before. If it is a case that ALL hits to the head are cheap or dirty and they are suspendable, then it is what it is. I just dont think DK went over to run him and hit him in the head. now if engell realizes that it is Savard, then yeah he does probably want to give him extra. But look at his fights, he is respectful. if it was Matt Cooke, then yep.

cheap hit by Engelland. Savard is already passing and Deryk goes into the face first with his elbow/arm, body tackles are respectable not head hunting. How about blocking the pass, his tackle served no other purpose than seriously injuring the other guy.
