honestly? it would have been better to get a convertible seat, since it's recommended by the AAP to rear-face until 2 years old, or until the child outgrows the rear-facing parameters of a convertible seat. BUT... the nautilus is still a good car seat. it's one of my favorite forward-facing car seats since it can be turned into a backless booster, so it's going to last him a good long time. i wish you lived near the BRU that i work at so i could have made that recommendation, but oh well. :o)

I just got a nice rear rack bag big enough for the pump, tubes, tires and more. The rear bag I got is from nashbar, bought through ebay around 25 with shipping, it will allow me to be backpack free, or lighter at the least. Thanks for the response. Glad I can help ya out.
