Dead right, cziffra444.Gergiev is being diplomatic. What he says Lang Lang 'is learning not to do' - i.e. rush through and take the money - is exactly what Lang Lang does. Ruining the music on the way. And Gergiev is a great maestro, so his views should be taken very seriously. While Lang Lang is renowned as 'Clang Clang'.

I thought I responded to this already but..he married Ossetian native Natalia, and they have three boys. Check wiki for confirmation. He got married like almost ten years ago, so "since when?" is lolz.

I LOVE hearing him talk. I don't see why people are giving such negative feedback. He worked damn hard to get where he is today, and has accomplished much.
PS I doubt he is gay since he is married with numerous children.

Well, it depends if you are talking about Lang Lang or Gergiev.
Gergiev married Natalia Dzebisova (he was 43at the time, she 19) in September 2000. They have two sons, Abisal Valeriovich, born in October 2000, and Valery Valeriovich; and a daughter Tamara (Valierovna?) born in 2003.
He also has a daughter from a previous relationship, also a Natalia; a fact he does a good job of keeping from all media but the British press, who would be 23 this year. She is a pianist.

actually, it's possible he's being diplomatic- all he really says is that he's getting better at playing it, and he doesn't rush. that isn't exactly high praise- it looks nice, but it isn't actually much of a comment.

guess they haven't heard Rachmaninoff playing this piece lately. Check out the composer's interpretations on YouTube. Then you will understand what the composer wished and realize how far off the mark Lang Lang is.
