OMG! Harry Potter DOES have themes! In fact, the books could be said to have many themes; power/abuse of power, love, prejudice, free choice, death, ect. The writer just prefers to let themes "grow organically", rather than sitting down and consciously attempting to impart such ideas to her readers. Just cuz they aren't in your face doesn't mean they're not there, you just have to look a TINY bit deeper than the surface!

I saw this production at the Cleveland Playhouse on the night of the free dress rehearsal. There was a stage malfunction which resulted in the second act being cancelled. I actually never read or saw the show before so I did not know the ending until I saw this. Stylisticaly this seems a bit of a departure from the earlier narrative.
