LENNY SCUKNIK....you are a very, very brave man to have rescued this lady...you are a true Hero and have restored my faith in mankind. God Bless you........
Just like Seconds from Disaster, this ignores the sixth passenger. What's with that? He was a hero - he caught the ropes from the helicopter and passed them to other passengers, sacrificing his own life.
@Elemarth They only have 10-15 minutes per segment, minus commercial breaks - and this programme is about the investigation of crashes more than the crashes themselves. People who have researched this accident know though.
@SusieArviso - You could argue that makes this documentary more honest!
This series is brillant. It's the kind of the documentary I like. No bells and whistles, very nice voice, and relaxed speaking. 70s-80s decade atmosphere (suites, mustaches, haircuts, cars), I hope that other episodes of the series will be uploaded. Thanks.
You rock Lenny! Thank you for diving in to save Priscilla. And the sixth survivor who passed the helicopter line to the other survivors is a hero too. He unfortunately drowned when the tail sank.
i couldn't bare watching this from the side of the river i would have been exactly like the guy who jumped in to save that woman, that is a day you risk your life to save others.
This series is extremely instructive and entertaining. This is much higher quality than similar American series. Thanks so much for posting these. I love listening to British English !
Well said Fengyungo. Lenny Skutnik is a true hero. This is the type of man kids should look up to. Lenny never accepted a dime for his story - despite many lucrative offers. He shyed away from the publicity and the limelight. 'I did what I had to do' A true American hero and a lesson in humiliity. God bless you Lenny Skutnik!
Watch the footage closer of Lenny handing her off, the rescue crews WERE in the water, in shifts, to pick up the individuals brought in by the chopper. Because of the bridge the chopper couldn't get close enough to set them on the shore. Dive suits were being located in case rescuers had to go in. Think before you speak, rescue personnel save lives every day.
Thank you SO much for posting this! I remember seeing the American version of this series on TLC in like '97 and have been looking for it for a long time.
oh yes...horrible corporations are the reason for all evil in the world! or if not them then at least the government. oh save us all! hahaha what a simplistic naive world view.

Lots of cussing and swearing in this one. Not a problem but I've watched so many that didn't.

lenny is the man. did you see that dive and rescue at 8:16 , amazing . holy shit...
Honeymouu 3 years ago 21
8:18 is familiar to me because it's a scene used in the rescue 9-1-1- intro.
gregorkrause 3 years ago 3
how crappy were those rescue workers. Not one risked their life. It took a civilian to go in and get one of them. What a sad group.

But it took Lenny to say "screw it" to waiting for wetsuits and jump on in.
