Great Stuff! Besides being very informative, clear, and simple...you are a hoot to watch! I chuckled my way through your video, which was good medicine for me today. :) You have a knack for instruction. Thanks for the video! ~Peace
this is my first time watching you and i seriously enjoyed not only the tutorial but also listening to you and watching the whole video :)) at first i thought oh this is gonna be a grandma lecture on how to sew but LOL! you are one cool sewing teacher. I love how organized your sewing room is, i wish i had one. Thank you so much! im going to try this soon. More power to you and your tutorials <3
Great video! Iv made my own bags and added pockets before sewing it all together. This is so much easier cause you just lift it out and put it in the next bag.
M~I hope you get everything done & post a new one soon! Can't wait to see what your new room looks like! I haven't even thought about doing one til I got this letter from you noe you have given the idea to maybe do a video of my room!Except for one major problem no camera & I have NO~Idea how to post one !!! Have a great day your friend & fellow crafter ~Tessa~
Jen~first off just let me say this video is great! Thanx for showing us that sewing is fun & functional too! Which by the way I have known this since I was little, been sewing, knitting, crocheting beading since I was 6! started scrapbooking 5 years ago now I am hooked !! Love your room I saw that video 1st! My hubby made my sewing table from an old hospital room door very heavy but it's very steady! It sits in the middle of my space! cutting at one end sewing at the other! thanx again Tessa~
@tessa71465 Tessa thank you so much for the kind words! And what genius. Sewing at one end and cutting at the other -- it would save so much space. I just moved, gave up that fabulous "studio," and while mourning its loss am trying to set up the new one. It is more difficult than I thought! I am keeping at it and hopefully will have a new version of this very video up soon.
@HSVL Absolutely! Just keep your main piece flat instead of folding in half. Cut 2 pocket pieces instead of one. Follow the basic directions to attach each one and you're good. Just be sure to fuse the interfacing to the main piece before you sew the pockets down.
Thank you, thank you. Just what I was looking for and "sew" easy. Wow I love your channel just discovered you and soooo happy to find you. Subscribed of course. We are about the same age and you are such an inspiration. Your "haul" -thrift store steal... great! Love it look forward seeing more of you. THANKS FOR SHARING :)
@luana913 What kind words! Thank you so much! I'm working on a new video -- however, as I am not a good editor, it is taking FOREVER! I am always glad to find other sewers my age - we dinosaurs have to stick together! LOL! Thank you SO much for subscribing!
This was fantastic on so many levels! You managed to be instructional AND funny. Not an easy task having viewed many YouTube vids. Great job. I'm a fan.
@dc2010ist You're absolutely right -- you can easily do it without. I found a newer method to do this, and I'll be doing an update video soon. Thanks for watching -- and for the tip!
Reminded me of the pocket protector one of my middle school teachers wore and the kangaroo keeper. The teacher used to say he liked his pens organized. Love u tutorial.
@amomschoice Glad you liked it! I actually made one of these last night after being completely frustrated with my current handbag situation (and organiser). It's a new and improved version - easier to do, I think. I'll try and get a tutorial up on that soon.
Oh, and I LOVE that shelf behind you with all your fabric organized by color! Is that something that was made or did you buy it?! Fantastic idea! A lot better than my plastic grocery bag method!! ugh haha
@SweetGinxyCrafter Aren't those the greatest shelves? They're called "Cubeicals" and are made by ClosetMaid. They come in a few different colors as well. I found mine at Target, but you can find them all over (WalMart, Lowe's, Home Depot, KMart, Amazon, etc). I originally wanted to make a divider wall, so I stacked four of them. Then I moved and they worked great for my fabric!
Great tutorial! I followed your instructions step by step! If I could only cut a straight line with a ruler and scissors... lol Where is that yard stick anyway? Hmm... NEhow.. thanks so much for your video. I had found instructions online.. but already made a horrible attempt at a jeans purse just using shotty online instructions. My purse organizer turned out fabulous! I didn't put velcro on mine because I wanted it to fit all my purses... leave open on some and wind in itself for others...
I MADE IT! Thank you! First time I've finished a project from start to finish! It was easy to do and really simple, my first one's not great so hopefully with a bit more practice I can make a few more!
I really enjoy watching this video, Now I know what to make for Christmas.
Also, I love how organized your fabric area is. I was keeping my fabric in containers that were taking up to much room. You have given me a project to start. Look forward to other project.
@baevins Thanks so much, Barbara! I'm hoping to make another "great gift for Christmas" project pretty soon. On the fabric storage -- my kids initially did that for me. What a great idea, right? So glad this inspired you!

Do you think it would be possible to put pockets on the other side as well? And of so how would you do it?
