  • How You Can Help

Members can help the suffering of flood victims in Pakistan and in other troubled regions of the world "by contributing to the humanitarian fund and praying for the people."

  • Adams said about their joint 1953 Life assignment to shoot Mormon towns in Utah: "We shared the work in a rather obvious way. She concentrated on the people

  • Greatest gifts: What are "God's Greatest Gifts"? In an upcoming book and accompanying blog, Devan Jensen explores this very question. He realized "It finally dawned on me that all the gifts of God might collectively be called the greatest -- much like a 'greatest hits' album by a favorite artist." Some of the gifts include the gift of life, the gift of forgiveness and the gift of the Holy Ghost. And yet he still focuses one post on "The Greatest of All Gifts."

  • I found a lot of hidden (at least to me) examples there of how to handle situations that come up in life. I blog about them once a week on Sunday. I choose one scripture from my list and write my thoughts about what His example in that verse means to me." And the result? The beautiful blog about what Jesus did. Let her insights help you become a better follower of Jesus Christ.

  • Jesus did: Lorrie Overson wrote "I was struggling with what it meant to follow Jesus' example because of the changes I need to make in my life...so I read the New Testament and made notes of everything Jesus actually did.

  • British history: Take "a gentle stroll through LDS Britain" with blog author Peter Fagg as your guide (he actually is a tour guide in real life). With facts, sources and photos, Fagg marvelously brings the little-known LDS British history to life. Lately, he has found connections to the life of John Taylor. For example, learn about his "Boyhood in England." And there is much more. This is a delightful and informative site for anyone interested in British-LDS historical or genealogical connection

  • Oh, so singing a song makes you a christian.

  • Yes

  • Most of the kids in my school's choral group were not Christians and did BEAUTIFUL renditions of carols during the holidays. Singing a song makes you NO WHERE near a believer.

This is all ridiculous. Mormons are NOT Christians, folks.

  • yes, one song and you are Christian! It sure beats ATTACKING the Mormons.

  • My point was that saying something and doing that thing are completely different.

  • America's Choir can best answer this question... <----- news flash they are not America's Choir, they are the Choir of your father satan. False prophet Joseph Smith.

  • Morons are NOT Christians, they are False prophets.

  • Hate to tell you, singing a song doesn't make you a Christian. (lol) If I start rapping some gangsta rap, that doesn't make me a gangsta. Mormons aren't Christians!

  • LOL, yes it does... I know it doesn't. You should take a look at what we believe. Thanks for the comment!

  • ahburner... do Mormons believe in a Triune Godhead... that is that the Father, the Son, and the Spirit are three divine persons who are one divine being (God).

  • Mormons in the traditional pre-Nicene creed terms are subordinationists: a doctrine which means that Jesus and/or the Holy Ghost are 'subordinate' or 'subject' to God the Father. In subordinationism, Jesus must be a separate being from the Father, because you can't be subject to yourself! This was the orthodox position before the Nicean council. Ideas that were once orthodox were later considered unacceptable after the councils altered and added to the doctrine.

    Thanks for asking.

  • i'd sure love to see some valid documentation of that "orthodox position" befoe Nicea... got a site i can go to to read what it has to say?

  • en . wikipedia . org / wiki / Subordinationist

remove the spaces before and after the following symbols:

  • Yes

  • it also seems to me you can't have it both ways ... you say mormons believe Jesus is a separate Being from the Father, but then you answer "yes" to believing that the Father, Son and Holy Spirit are One... can you elaborate on that for me?

  • The Son and the Holy Ghost are one God being subordinate to the Father. In the same sense we also are subordinate to Jesus Christ of Nazarteth and can be "joint heirs with him" of the Father's kingdom. The Father, Son and Holy Spirit are one (one: Greek neutral vs masculine). The Bible in the original Greek while saying the godhead is one, the word "one" is neutral not masculine, meaning one in purpose. See John 17: The Intercessory Prayer

  • we are subordinate to Him because He is God... He is the Creator while we are the created... and speaking of which, do you believe that Jesus has existed from the beginning, along with the Father and the Holy SPirit?

we are "joint heirs" only in the sense that we are "brothers and sisters" to Jesus... so we can aspire to enjoy the Beatific Vision

but along these same lines...does your faith believe that Jesus was conceived by God the Father, which is contradictory to Holy Scripture?

  • Jesus is the only begotten of the Father in the flesh, the firstborn of the resurrection, conceived by the Holy Ghost (Spirit); being first with the Father before the world was: there he was pre-ordained to fulfill his mission on the cross to save humanity so that we also might become like the Father and the Son. Through the Lord of Nazareth, God created the universe so all things were made by and through him. He was given authority from his Father to act in his name, he is perfect and my God.

  • I agree that we are "joint heirs" only in the sense of being born again as children of God and a brother of the Lord. As Jesus also said, "Ye are gods...children of the most high" (John 10). Also the Son and Holy Spirit (Mormons make no distinction between Spirit and Ghost) existed with the Father in the beginning. Unlike most Christians Mormons do not support the Ex nihilo "out of nothing everything was created" notion, rather we believe that the Godhead has always existed and always will.

  • @faithful827 oh and where was the holy spirit sitting ,at jehovahs left ?

  • The LDS church waivers from teaching the bible alone and denies essential Christian doctrine (1 God, nature of Jesus, salvation by grace alone). Christians are considered the church. Mormons are not included in the body of Christ. Mormons are NOT just another Christian denomination! The LDS church is a dangerous counterfeit religion. Mormons profess Christ, but deny Him with their extrabiblical false doctrine and by following their false prophets! Joseph Smith was a fraud!

  • The worst part of LDS is that it disguises it's lies under "sacred, not secret" things you can't learn until you're too far in. So people are lead astray because it sounds so similar, because THEY DON' T TELL YOU THE TRUTH. Mishies don't tell you about their rejection of the trinity, or their masonic rituals, or that you have to be married to get into the "highest" level of heaven...

    IT'S A CULT!!!

  • Yes and YES!
