  • i have a mexican fireleg but i dont know is it a female or a male somebody help ?

  • @thesspectacularr if you get a look at the underbelly of the spider if its a female it has a clear duct for spermweb to be placed,

Also male T's have small hooks on the second to final joint of the front leg's to hold back the females fangs during mating.

generaly you can tell by the abdomen size a female will be more bulky

if you paid less than £100--$160 id presume its female

male t's are substantialy more expensive.

  • so color can be a factor to know if a b. boehmei is a male or female? and do females can be leggier too or only males?

  • i have those variation of boehmei but the lighter color someone told me it was a baumgarteni. I am lil bit confused bcoz baumgarteni should have a black carapace.. btw both female

  • I thought you couldn't put two tarantulas together without them trying to kill each other!!!!! :0

  • @ryanandblake77 They were placed next to each other for a photo opp and that was it. They are predictable and easy to control.

  • @talkenlate04 but if they tryed living together something might happen right? I got my first tarantula a few months ago and I dont know very much about them but the basic needs.

  • @ryanandblake77 You are correct, you do not want to be keeping them together permanently because they will end up fighting. Some species of tarantula will live together well though.

  • @talkenlate04 oh. thanks for the fact :). Do you know anything about rose hairs? Mine won't molt even though she is showing all of the signs.

  • @ryanandblake77 G. rosea are slow slow growers. I have seen one be in premolt for near a year. They really just do things on their own time. Just make sure you keep fresh water in its bowl and enjoy the wait. Keep offering food too because sometimes these guys will eat more in premolt.

  • @talkenlate04 thank you very much because i was begining to think something was wrong

  • @talkenlate04

I got a Brachypelma smithi a few months ago and i noticed her abdomen changed to a pale color, presumeing thats the pre-molt stage, but then she went back to her original color i was rather confused so i left her to it then when i woke up the next morning she had shed the skin completely and was a fresh new Stunning T.

  • @ryanandblake77 You can try put poecilotherias with poecilotherias and avicularias with avicularias together, they live in colonys in wild some times, but dont try it theres a chance of cannibalism

  • omg you caught a shiny spinarak you wanna trade :0

  • like the bright red colour form more =D

  • Sure that's not a B. baumgarteni? Just a though that came to mind, no hostility implied.

  • @UnavailableImage Yes I am quite positive they are both boehmei.

  • @talkenlate04 also it could be A. bicoloratum

  • @Silweror It is not a bicoloratum. They are both boehmei.

  • Hybrid

  • @Totenwecker They are not hybrids. These colors and other variations can come from the same egg sac.

  • nice, you got 2 colors. emilias also have similar colorations, one being bright red and another being a yellowish mocha.

  • don't they fight?

  • @hardblade1 They don't live together.

  • @talkenlate04

but they attack each other when they sit there?

  • @Wintersun93 What are you talking about? If they are just sitting there how can they be attacking too? I don't understand your question.

  • @talkenlate04

cause of bird spider defend their territory? and they live alone..that are the same reasons for that you cant let them live in groups without poecis...

  • @Wintersun93 This was just for a photo, they are not living together.

  • hi so what are they really like,ie.

    are they agressive ?.. fast?..skitish?..

  • @johnbc62 They can be a bit skittish and they can tend to kick hairs more than most species but they are quick to calm down. I have a decent reaction to their hairs so I rarely mess with them.

  • Maybe it's because one of them is not a boehmei but a hybrid

  • @operazek No that is not the case. They are both boehmei.

  • Thank You.

  • I mean is male or female the one on the left?

  • They are both females.

  • whats the one on the left.

  • @seanacker21 What do you mean by what is the one on the left?

  • that's crazy they didn't eat each other

  • are they breeding or do they live together? lol

  • Neither one. They were just put side by side for the picture to show colors.

  • bicoloratum is also possible

  • nah. They look similar bicoloratum grows up to 4.5 inches

  • No not in this case its not. They both are boehmei.

  • i think the lighter orange was a b. baumgarteni.. i have 2 boehmei pair looks like the darker one. and male baumgarteni likes looks like the lighter one..

    correct me if im wrong.

  • For sure not a baum.

  • Could this be based on one being a male and one being a female? Like how T apophysis females have a slight red tint to their hairs and pink toes, but then males are a bright purple?

  • These were both females.

  • w0w.. that is so beuatiful.. i want one..^^

  • I want one, what's a good docile easy going T to start with? any suggestions? oh yeah I'm a newbie btw

  • A brachypelma smithi is a good starter in my opinion. If you can get a well started one around 3" they are pretty bullet proof when it comes to care.

  • DO enyone know anybody that sells tarantulas and can ship them all over the world ect Sweden

  • I don't sorry. =-(

  • Whoah how did you do that?? They didn't kill each other. You took them out and placed them in that particular container?

  • Hey, I might be getting one like the one on the right!

  • they just chilln

  • No. They were only there for the picture.

  • do they live in the same enclosure ?

  • No. But the red one has always been red, and the orange one has always been orange.

  • Are these 2 the same age?

  • No they are both females.

  • im guessing the one on the left is female?and right is male??

  • interesting observation... i would prefer the more red color form on the left myself

  • for some reason i prefer the orange one more but its different opinions right

  • yes sir! that's what makes the world go 'round ;)
