i have those variation of boehmei but the lighter color someone told me it was a baumgarteni. I am lil bit confused bcoz baumgarteni should have a black carapace.. btw both female
@talkenlate04 but if they tryed living together something might happen right? I got my first tarantula a few months ago and I dont know very much about them but the basic needs.
@ryanandblake77 You are correct, you do not want to be keeping them together permanently because they will end up fighting. Some species of tarantula will live together well though.
@ryanandblake77 G. rosea are slow slow growers. I have seen one be in premolt for near a year. They really just do things on their own time. Just make sure you keep fresh water in its bowl and enjoy the wait. Keep offering food too because sometimes these guys will eat more in premolt.
I got a Brachypelma smithi a few months ago and i noticed her abdomen changed to a pale color, presumeing thats the pre-molt stage, but then she went back to her original color i was rather confused so i left her to it then when i woke up the next morning she had shed the skin completely and was a fresh new Stunning T.
@ryanandblake77 You can try put poecilotherias with poecilotherias and avicularias with avicularias together, they live in colonys in wild some times, but dont try it theres a chance of cannibalism
cause of bird spider defend their territory? and they live alone..that are the same reasons for that you cant let them live in groups without poecis...
@johnbc62 They can be a bit skittish and they can tend to kick hairs more than most species but they are quick to calm down. I have a decent reaction to their hairs so I rarely mess with them.
i think the lighter orange was a b. baumgarteni.. i have 2 boehmei pair looks like the darker one. and male baumgarteni likes looks like the lighter one..
Could this be based on one being a male and one being a female? Like how T apophysis females have a slight red tint to their hairs and pink toes, but then males are a bright purple?
i have a mexican fireleg but i dont know is it a female or a male somebody help ?
thesspectacularr 1 month ago
@thesspectacularr if you get a look at the underbelly of the spider if its a female it has a clear duct for spermweb to be placed,
Also male T's have small hooks on the second to final joint of the front leg's to hold back the females fangs during mating.
generaly you can tell by the abdomen size a female will be more bulky
if you paid less than £100--$160 id presume its female
male t's are substantialy more expensive.

so color can be a factor to know if a b. boehmei is a male or female? and do females can be leggier too or only males?

I thought you couldn't put two tarantulas together without them trying to kill each other!!!!! :0
ryanandblake77 10 months ago
@ryanandblake77 They were placed next to each other for a photo opp and that was it. They are predictable and easy to control.

Sure that's not a B. baumgarteni? Just a though that came to mind, no hostility implied.
UnavailableImage 1 year ago
@UnavailableImage Yes I am quite positive they are both boehmei.
talkenlate04 1 year ago
@talkenlate04 also it could be A. bicoloratum
Silweror 1 year ago
@Silweror It is not a bicoloratum. They are both boehmei.

Hybrid
Totenwecker 1 year ago
@Totenwecker They are not hybrids. These colors and other variations can come from the same egg sac.
talkenlate04 1 year ago
nice, you got 2 colors. emilias also have similar colorations, one being bright red and another being a yellowish mocha.

@Wintersun93 What are you talking about? If they are just sitting there how can they be attacking too? I don't understand your question.

glasshill 2 years ago
A brachypelma smithi is a good starter in my opinion. If you can get a well started one around 3" they are pretty bullet proof when it comes to care.
