I wonder if John Williams was influenced by this piece when he was trying to come up with a theme for Jaws. And I don't mean the Shark theme. I mean the town theme. What do you think?

It's very possible, but I don't really know. I think we are all influenced by other musicians, some more so than others. I am sure John Williams is no different in that respect than anyone else. I think the only one who can really answer that question, though, is John Williams himself.

the bass time is a bit different.. always 1 hit per tempo, the original is 1 in contra another in the head of the tempo, then a pause.. anyway, very good

but would sound even better with basses and cellos in the right tempo :D
