My mother named my 2nd sister (deceased around 1 yr old premature) after this song. It maid me cry. I never got to meet my 2nd sister since I was born 3rd. ( I have another sister 4 years older than me) and my 2nd sister would have been 1 year older than me.......Love this. God bless.

  • Both Waylon and Don Williams versions of this song sound very similar, in fact their vocal tone is similarly close. They should have done a DUO version.

  • RIP RALPH MOONEY, GREATEST STEEL PLAYER EVER......Now he is jamming with Waylon once again....

  • My girl, my girl, was named because of and after this song..

  • 125 likes and no dislikes. Thats right! Waylon was one of a kind.

  • The pedal steel has got to be my favorite instrument and when Mooney comes in at like 58 seconds is probably my favorite pedal steel solo I could think of. RIP Waylon

My dad god rest his soul used to play his guitar and sing songs from jones roger and mostly waylon and i remember just sitting there and soaking it all up. Music today will NEVER live up to what it was.

  • Wow!!! Love Waylon, My Dad sang all his songs..but with Amanda, he sang I'm over 50 and still wearing jeans. Lost Dad 2 1/2 years ago. Miss him and Love him. Back when I was a teenager, Dad sang, I'm Damn near 40 and still wearing jeans....made mom cry every time, as this was his song to her....I know a post hasn't been made here in 7 months, but oh well.

  • Waylon was a great man. I'm sooo far removed from his culture, but it comes thru what a good heart he had. He's a saint in my eyes.

  • @unwinsis ......You're not far sooo removed from Waylon's culture. His culture is from the soul.

  • Singingpines1

Waylon is one of my all time favorite singers.God bless him.

  • I love this song. My name is Amanda and its my favorite!!! Great country singer!

  • @kkw1965 One post a year is better than none. Love this song and your comment which hits very close to home for me. My late husband looked and sounded like Waylon. Our oldest son is now in his 40's and it's one of his favorites too.

  • @kkw1965 I do the same when I sing it too...now I'm nearly 30 still wearing jeans... I also married my Amanda! Sounds like you dad was a good man, if he liked Waylon he had to be!

  • @kkw1965 u got one now hoss.great song by the greatest of them all.

  • waylon was my favorite country singer of all time he was the best the outlaw movement in country music was the best him waylon and johnny kris willie merle johnny paycheck just to name a few the were all so great rest in piece guys waylon jennings johnny cash johnny paycheck we miss you guys

  • Normally I would say Hank Sr. was number 1, with Waylon right on his heels, but I think I have to give it to both. They were both number 1 in country music, but completely different kinds of country music.

  • here's to everyone that posts vintage footage like this. Think we convince Waylon's friend Robert Duvall to direct a bio-pic on the man?

  • Wow this is rare and great footage of THE MAN RIP !!!!!!!

  • Holy good god amighty son, you've posted lost treasure here!Sang it Hoss!

  • Man I love this video!

  • One of the first songs I ever loved. Waylon had THE voice, he was good loking also.

He wreally had things to say. Not like modern bop country. He could never be like that, he was true and onest...He is on top with Johnny Cash. I wich he was still making music

  • if they were still alive johnny and waylon i am sure they would still be 2 of the best and i am sure tht kris and willie would be right with them the highwaymen would still be singing and doing what they loved to do i think i can speak for all who is watching this video we miss you so so so much RIP waylon & johnny
