@MrHellJew i had a lab crossed with a rotti, he was pitch black with a giant head and body, he had long legs and had the sweetest dispostion,i sure miss him. he died last year. he was 16 years old. he was all about his tennis ball, he loved my cats and drooled like a son of a bitch, but he was a terrific listner and was always up for a swim.

Oh, I had Shih Tzu once. Her name was Lulu and she used to constantly lick you with her tiny tongue. SO CUTE! She had very short fur, and her favorite treat were Cheerios! She died of old age, but I still think of her often.

I absolutely adore this breed. Right now I own two, boy & girl.  My last dog was also a shih tzu and she lived to 18 y.o (I had to put her down--bless her). Wonderful dogs indeed.

My shih tzu is lazy, likes to sleep (like me :D) doesnt eat alot, she likes the air conditioning, she likes to chew on everything she can find...including my fingers and toes, she watches TV, she doesnt do any tricks, is fun to play with, EXSTREAMLY HYPER when she gets water on her (one drop would do) she has back problems so she has to wear a diaper, and well when you leave or go she barks like crazy, she likes to bit you on your feet, and shes a nice dog and licks you all the time............

i have 3 shihtzus and i treat them like all other dogs, i dont think that ALL shihtzu's like to be groomed and papered more than a king. that is just my opinion, but i think shihtzus are just like a terrier or a hound or something. just another version of a little doggy.

My shih tzu is to hyper, and lazy. shes sleeping on a dining chair right now ._. she is very hard to train but she learns alot. she hates people, that shes not use to. she is very loving. she loves attention she is like my little baby, she always has to be held by my mom XD and me.i take her out and she runs away from cats and squirrels but chases cars :/ yea and shes 1. she runs so fast, and barks a lot. she knows when to stop barking or to stop doing someting or to get off something.

my shih tzu is spoiled rotten, she never eats anything unless its from someones hand or if she is really hungry, she never sits down either she just lays down and never lets anyone know if she has to go outside to pee, she just pees if shes not outside, other than that she is very fast and absolutely loves running around in fields and chases cats and stuff O'yeah she barks too.

Mine doesn't come when called either, but you have to KEEP a dog active. You're supposed to walk him atleast once a day and play fetch for atleast 10 - 15 mins a day. If your dog doesn't like ANYTHING that has to do with activeness, and If he LITERALLY sleeps 24/7 YOU'RE a lazy owner for leaning your dog like that. My Shih Tzu loves sleeping, and hates water but loves playing fetch. And btw Shih tzu's have BEAUTIFUL eyes if you take care of them. o_O
