I love watching clips from the Zoo TV Era, but there's something about Macphisto that unsettles me and creeps me out! But then again, I suppose that's the whole point of the character! When I see him doing that jittery walk and talking in that posh English accent, I have to force myself to remember that the real Bono is still inside! Epic band, unmatched now and always.

MacPhisto was a cross between the devil and a washed-up rock star who lost his way for the glamorous life and ended up in Las Vegas in the same manner as Elvis. It was continuing the trend of Bono taking the piss out of himself - the Fly sort of represented his present self and MacPhisto was his professed future.
