Okay Redneck, looks like you have a good idea here. All you need is forcefeed back and maybe a realistic gun discharge noise set on the games rate of fire - for instance if you have a rifle equipped in the game, every time you fire you'll hear a "click" noise. Next, you need to contact game developers and present them with your prototype so they can get the software code into the games.

If you wanna get 5up3r f**king XTREME with this thing, you need to drop the attached screen, and setup a spherical room with a full articulating ceiling-mounted projector that moves the projected image based upon the orientation of the gun. I mean, who doesn't have the extra space in their house to build a sphere-shaped room with non-existent projector technology? Poor people, maybe.

I think in another video he talked of an image being projected from the barrel of the gun, so I think the room could be pretty tiny, just make a white geodesic sphere almost as tall as the ceiling in your house with a little door and your sorted, all the technology is all there, tiny cellphone sized projectors maybe up to spec already

what research, I went to his site and all that's there are some concept drawings and pictures of the gun. What we see here and what his concept shows are two different things plus he never moves more than a few feet in this video so I think it's perfectly fine to be curious as to how to move around in-game. What this really needs is a headset and a gun that are both independently tracked. Head movements move the main camera in game, and gun movements move the actual in game gun relative to where it should be. Instead of a monitor on the gun, you'd basically have a head tracking VR headset. I honestly can't see why this hasn't been done yet, it would completely revolutionize FPS games.

That would require a reprogramming of the code. Most FPS games have the camera and the gun sights locked together (if not all).  Since it's not in the coding, the hardware has no way to relate to the game the interpretation of the headset movements.

But this way your using a realistic HID method that fit this genre perfectly. You aim like in reallife.

This realy work for Realism oriented games and sim.

For frantic fragfest bunny hop games this realisme criples you compared to Keyb/mous and gamepad veterans.

Because of this,such HID must be server detectable. And games must have a optimal mode for this.
