  • There is no way on earth those potatoes are even remotely cooked. Of all vegetables potatoes should be slightly overcooked with no crunch whatsoever.

  • Yeah, right, dude! First the heat will destroy many of the nutrients. Then, a lot of the steam is going to condense on the lid and drip onto your veggies, washing away a lot of the flavor and what nutrients are still left. So, raw is much more healthy. If course, you will have to actually chew your food if you eat it raw, but at least that is some exercise; more than most couch potatoes usually get while they vegetate in from of the TV.

  • is the water all the time at the highest level (boiling) or do you turn the heat a little bit off, when you put the veggies in it? i use a lot of organic frozen broccolli, is the process of streaming the same for frozen one? please excuse my bad english i am still learning :)

  • Thank you Karen! Yes it seems I went from 250 LBS down to 243 LBS during my revised diet plan. I ride bikes with my daughters 3 to 5 times a week for a few hours a day. My blood pressure dropped 2o points since I started this dietary program of mine.

  • @HealthierLiving I really feel like I didn't need to watch your video after the 25 second mark because I always drink the water afterward anyway!

  • I usually sautée or steam. For fagioli/green beans I sautee in olive oil with onions and garlic.

  • Thank you Huy! I enjoy foods prepared like this much better than just boiling away the flavor. I used to drink the water after boiling vegetables with some added olive oil and pepper so it kind tasted like a soup but I like the flavor much better when it stays in the vegetables by steaming them.
