  • I enjoyed this day, i was it Quorn and i really felt like i was train spotting in the 1960's and when the freight came through i pretended it was going to somewhere in the country rather than just Rothley, it was a good day despite the weather

  • Lovely video again. Where's the webpage gone?

  • @20Norton

Thanks. I am having some technical problems with the provider, which should be resolved on Monday.

  • Wonderful conditions for filming steam Mike, and as always a fantastic video...Bob

  • @robmasterman

Thanks Bob. Probably too much steam, which obscured much of the engines / trains. Better than filming on a warm summer's day though, and it's good to get the variety.

  • A lovely video Mike, I think the gloomy conditions add to the atmosphere a great deal and makes for some good exhaust effects. The shot of 30777 departing Loughborough shows just how gloomy it was.

  • @acw71000

Thanks Austin. Yes there was a mist all day and it got dark very early. The Lamiel shot was the 3:30 and it was already too dark for decent still shots.

  • Enjoyed it ---made the best of a very murky day ---if you were on your own then you had your own timetable to perfection ---spoke to you at charnwood and appear in the shot on the right cheers

  • @grantham8

Thanks. Yes, I remember talking to you. Hope you were successful with your shots!

  • Brilliant Video! I think that the jinty looked brill at Kinchley!

  • @KWVRMAD

    Thanks. Too much steam probably.

  • As always, a great video, bucket-loads of atmosphere. And the sun didn't always shine in the steam era, so it's good to see some gloomy days now and again, tech permitting.

  • @dsj672

Thanks. Yes, there weren't to many photographers there. Too many of them are just interested in pretty ¾ view shots in the sunshine!

  • just the weather for Steam. Classic shot at 6:00 with the steam and the signal lights. Is Lamiel staying there for a while or is it just visiting?

  • @AndreiTupolev

The GCR is Sir Lamiel's home railway. I would guess that she will be staying over the winter until the mainline season begins next year.
