@olympussound stop attention seeking and go peddle your shit flutes elsewhere - on some crappy pop videos. The videos of midlake or not the place for this kind of bull crap. Go away please and let us enjoy the music.
A british band that you might like that are similar to Midlake are called The FOSSIL COLLECTIVE. Go and check out the video for On and On. Its very good. Bye Bye xx
Fleet Foxes are on record as Midlake fans (just as Midlake is on record as Espers fans), though similarities between Midlake and FF seem to be from both being inspired by 4 decades ago bands like Steeleye Span. Anyway, great stuff! These should be great live too (like Van Occupanther, which impressed more in concertplus I got to meet the whole super nice band!). Acts of Man and Rulers Ruling All Things were the PsychExFutureHeart songs of the day. Check out todays at FutureHeartDays twitter
They are both solid groups in their own right. The sound structure is different and the style is a little different. Both easily rate better than most stuff you find today.
actually you could say Fleet Foxes have been listening to a lot of Midlake. Midlake have been around since 1999. Fleet Foxes only recorded their first demo in 2006.
Not sure how you read into me being upset, just setting the record straight. I like both bands. As far as them being less talented and boring, that is your opinion. Notice how I spelled it correctly?

Totally agree. Esp. the drums on acts of man remind me of KCrimson.

@7LBurna7 Yes, I agree... It's hard for me to imagine them sounding alike at all. I enjoy each differently, like a sunny day and a rainy day.
