  • nice

  • great idea. and thank you for speaking as quickly as you do.

  • What kind of temperatures does this system generate?

  • @alex12ray My temperature probe is pretty short, so I don't know how warm the core gets. I don't think it gets very warm, I've only measured temperatures that were ten or fifteen degrees above ambient.

  • That rug really tied the room together, did it not?

  • I was never told you had to turn compost!

  • Sweet video dude. I miss your previous work you did for Micro-Machines (TM). LOL

In all seriousness, great video. I was able to follow along fine and it is full of great info.

  • Awesome, dude! Had to watch it on slow-mo, though, 'cause you talk so fast!

But seriously, you mentioned worms. Composting worms in the bin? Or earthworms that make their way to the bin from the surrounding area?

  • @karenswanberg

I used the crumbly pseudo-compost that resulted from my first attempt as top dressing in my raised beds. The worms there made it disappear pretty quickly, especially since there was landscape fabric over it keeping everything moist and dark. There ARE earthworms in the wire cylinder you see in the video, but they face an insurmountable amount of material. They are doing important work, but I don't expect much out of them under those conditions.
