back then when i was little i thought spiderman first came out in 1994, and that before, he was never around. then i saw this game and it came out in 1990. i was like "what the fuck? spiderman games are older than the SHOW?"

Yeah, I saw the AVGN review too, which was funny but the game isn't bad once you get used to the weird controls.

There's essentially no reason EVER to use the punch except against Rhino. The crouching kick is faster, safer, and has more range while doing the exact same damage.

The reason why I said Rhino is an exception is because I find it hard to execute a jump in time to dodge his charge while kicking him.

AVGN says the control is awful. the punch is delayed for a full second later...

Yes you're right, the PUNCH animation is splitted in two parts, and is indeed 1 second later, but kicking or kick-jumping is far more effective anyway, so it's not that big problem :)

WTF the boss at the end of this vid when you hit him it looks like spiderman is slapping in his face. That really looked gay but overall the game seems to be decent. Are the contorlls really that bad as the AVGN is Saying?

Hi, the boss at the end is called Rhino. This game was one of the first for the Game Boy, and it's actually a bomb :D ...

The controls are very smooth and accurate, absolutely ok !

Good to hear that. I know that AVGN is overdoing at certain Games still he is funny as hell. This Game was Probably one of the better GB Games. They really should remake some older games for the DS that would be kinda cool since i am guessing 2D Games are gonna die very soon unfortunatly but also fortunatly. Those old Games were awesome but the newer Games need a new fresh wind for a change.

how fun is this game ? how challenging are the boss fights ? How would you rate it out of 10 ?

For me, this game is very fun to play, as long as you don't play it too often (linear levels...), the 5th and the 6th boss is quite challenging, and overall i would give it a 8 out of 10 (even if i compare it with newer gb games, oldschool is simply the best !)
