  • this strong sound of ford motor is incredible!!!

  • Schumacher is BEAST!

  • I wish Benetton would return to F1, their cars brightened up the grid so much! Every single car they made had a fantastic livery.

  • i am afraid in 1994 this will be the condition of f1 with those filthi little turbo charged 4 cylinders engies wats happening 2 f1

  • Man, these early 90's F1 on boards shots sound nearly identical to the early 90's CART on board shots. Engines are spooky similar in sound!

  • anyone know when f1 cars added a 7th gear?

  • @doiwantsomerandom Ferrari in 1989 on the 640. No one else had it until a little while later.

  • Awesome momo stering whell

  • What I find interesting is that Alfa Romeo was able to make their 155 DTM engine rev just a tad below this engine.

  • i agree, kzbxvz

  • adelaide is faster then melbourne and dangerous then melbourne, but this is race track not drivers track but melbourn have a beatiful albert park ,lake and he is interesant . adelaide is small then melbourn he had only 3 km ,melbourne 5 km, but yes he was faster then melbourn.

  • The Melbourne circuit is very good in my opinion, but my God, F1 LACKS good circuits at the moment, and it will only get worse. >-<

  • 0:40 I drive on that road everyday to work. It's awesome knowing these cars nearly got up to 300 kmh

  • What a great track this used to be. The atmosphere was so festive, the gum trees georgous, the circuit touched the edge of the CBD and there were even some great passing opportunities. I would love to see Adelaide alternate with Melbourne for the Australian GP. Adelaide was better to participate in, but I guess Melbourne is still the home of Australian sport and more convenient for FIA.

  • See Ayrton doing the same lap... seems Senna is exploring MUCH MORE the limits of the car, his limits and the limits of the track.

Senna is so mystic....a true unbeatable legend.

  • @ThyMiguez Schumi's lap is way better, despite wrost car.

  • @arturcraft2 Totally disagree. This Benneton is one of the best cars of F1 ever. Senna had a post-Honda (actually, so shitty that seemed Ford put a Mondeo engine in a McLaren). Nothing wrong if you are a Cheatmacher fan, but keep the facts.

  • @ThyMiguez Only brazilian claim that Benneton was a fantastic car. In every forum there is a Senna fan saying that Schumi beaten Senna many times in 92,93 and the whole 94 because Benneton was fantastic and etc. Not factual at all, some fan made that up to cover for Senna.

Your previous comment is totally wrong imo. In Schumacher's lap(which seems to be from qualifying) he goes much faster in corners and use all the track. The Senna lap on youtube is probably from practice because it is slow

  • @arturcraft2 92-95 was the best yrs of Benneton. See the results since 86 fighting equally with Williams, Ferrari and Mclaren. Funny you say Schumi beat Senna like a prize, isnt? Senna's lap was 'so slow' that made the pole for Adelaide...

Legends like Piquet and Bergher didn't have a competitive car like Shumi had. In his early yrs was a great promise, agressive and talented but he changed fast to a unfair prick. Even if he had 20 titles he never would be a true winner due his character

  • @ThyMiguez I agree that Schumacher is a cheater but the lap onboard of Senna that we have here is not his 93 pole.

There is a race onboard from Adelaide 93, and a slower(not his pole) onboard from qualifying and that's why it is so slow compared to this Schumacher lap. The problem is that you picked a non-fast Senna lap and said he was pushing the limits while it's exactly the opposite.

I don't know who is better Schumi or Senna, I even think that Alonso, Kubica,Ham... may be on this level too.

  • Ah they took the adelaide circuit away cz schumacher kept winning lol

  • nrieli in 1993 they had more driver aids than they do now.

  • was this the 4 wheel steer benetton?

  • @TheReppy No. This is the B193. Perhaps you are referring to the Tyrrell P34 of 1976??

  • @BlueOvalHero hi, I found the following info, looks like it was tested but not raced :) f1fanatic dot co dot uk /2007 /03 /22 /banned-four-wheel-steering /

  • schumacher will allways be my racing god!

  • the new rules are silly! the cars are silly, back to the roots!!!

  • Uh no way . Senna is superior to Schumacher , thank you

  • greatest f1 driver of all time. idgaf what nobody say.

  • What type of car is Schumacher driving here?

  • @21Wook75

    Benetton B193(B) with a 3.5Lit V8 Ford

  • bring f1 back to adelaide, 1of the best street circuits in the world. we know how to host a race, leave it in vic much longer australia wont even hav an f1 race

  • this sound is not coming from TC..TC sound comes right after the corner not before the corner

  • @spooky78 TC was allowed in 93 but they forgot to remove it in 94...it's easy to forget when you are so busy

  • whats with gearbox semi-automatic, or manual?

  • @pawelsetter92 manual

  • ilegal car...with driving aid...traction controler and launch control...

  • Which was allowed in 1993.....

  • 1st gear after brabham's streight and last curve..hm

  • Every driver who tried Schumacher's car and his set up had one thing to say: "Impossible to drive fast without losing it."

Gerhard Berger was all excited about trying out Schumacher's '95 Benetton and he was devastated after the test! He couldn't believe that Schumacher was able to control such a nervous rear end!

  • @22j77 Thats probably because they turned off the illegal traction and launch control.

  • LOL

I guess the reason why they never found a TC was because it was an integral part of Schumacher's body.

  • @22j77 They did find it but it was "switched off" Guess who was a part of the Benetton team back then? It was Flavio Briatore......need I say more

  • Schumacher didn't need Briatore to win with Ferrari.

  • Briatore is a shame to Italy. They already know the guy is a piece of shit, he should be expelled form any sort of job near F1.

  • Yeah he is a shame to Italy. I think I can now prove he was using traction control in this video, listen to the engine between 10 and 11 seconds, sounds like traction control to me.

  • TC is still legal in 93 dude... outlawed in 94

  • @ssssroryssss2

Sure you can hear in this Video the Traction-Controll, bacause this is from 1993, and 1993 was Traction-Controll legal, you Fool Idiot!!

And the FIA know Nothing, and never know Something about an Illegal Traction Controll in Benneton B194 you Stupid Child.

Have you ever seen an F1 Race???

Or you only leave Stupid Comment under every Video you have absolute no Plan about???

    Its Ridicules xDDD

You hear TC in an 1993 Car

    LooooooL

  • @kallo182 OK I got it the year wrong and I mixed up TC with llaunch control. The FIA did know about the launch control on the B194 but weren't sure if it was switched on during races.

If you look at my name then looked at who uploaded the 1992 German and Italian GPs to youtube, you will realise your statement about stupid comments....was a stupid.

  • @ssssroryssss2

Okay Sorry, i saw you watch F1 since Jears...

But Traction Controll in 1994 was not Possible

Because Traction Controll is only 50% Software, the other 50% is Hardware.

    - Every one of the 4 Tyres need Sensors, this Sensors must be Connectet with Bordsoftware.

    - From the Bordsoftware must get an Connection Line to the Fuel Injektion, to Pitch the Trottle.

And this Hardware was Disturbed in 1994, every Semi-Fan see such Hardware by first look in the Car.

    So its not Possible

  • @kallo182 I'm not sure what you mean. Traction control has been in F1 since the 80s and early 90s. Nigel Mansells 1992 FW14b had it.

  • @kallo182

Your half right. You can still get a traction control system to work without wheel sensors. They all measure air speed (top of cock pit, pitot tube). Also they were not banned in 1994 from measuring wheel speed, they used it for other data aswell (brake performance data, understeer/oversteer data... etc). So they certainly had the hardware to capture enough data to manage wheel spin.

  • @kallo182

Later on, teams were caught using the pit lane speed limiter as trigger to unhide traction software. Therefore the FIA made the teams flash the rear light when the limiter was on, to allow detection of this. In the end the FIA couldnt keep up with the teams tricks, and issued standard ECUs, removing TC for good.

  • @22j77 you just hit it right in the nail and fucked that guy up. good job :)

  • I wonder if that TC still works, though! He's 41 now and I fear he lost some of that speed he had 10 years ago.

  • @22j77 And then schummacher said he couldve won the world championship easily with the 95 ferrari after trying berger's. Wouldve made you think eh?

  • @22j77: when did he say that? Where is the quote? Berger drove a car much more powerful and hard to control, the 1991 McLaren, more HP and less aerodynamics in its time.

  • @saulocpp

Sure Berger say that, if you would read the Book from Gerhard Berger than you would know that...

Any way, what are you talking??

91 McLaren more HP than 95 Benetton??

The 95 Benetton had about 100- 150 HP more than the 91 McLaren!

Next time maybe proove your Facts before you try to telling Bullshit ; )

  • @22j77

a car designed by Rory Byrne in a Ross Brawn team impossible to drive?

  • @22j77

senna was the same if i remember, loose is fast if you can handle it. and they both could. luck for us we have one of them left.

    RIP A.Senna

  • @22j77 yeah.....but nothing beats senna!! lol

  • @kamzyp we will never know! In 94 before Senna died Schumacher was around 20-30 points in front of him! This is the last fact we know!

Both were different drivers! And both had different driving-styles!

We don't know and we will never know if Schumacher (in my opinion he was abled to do that) beats Senna!

  • @ADRtobi , yes i know both are or were the best Drivers in this times. Senna was egoistic too, don´t forget this.. Schumacher have this attitude too. But i believe both were on the same level! Thomas

  • @22j77 and when Schumacher tested the '95 Ferrari car he turned to Montezemolo and Todt and said: "With this car and this engine (V12), how do you guys only won one race?

  • @PIVOT1644 simple, gerhard berger and jean alesi were driving

  • @22j77 it's all relative though, speaking in 2000, Ross Brawn said that Michael cannot drive a car which understeers, a point proved last year in the Mercedes.

  • @22j77 fanboi

  • @throxnet QQ more

  • @TheMaroth fanboi

  • @throxnet you still QQ

  • @TheMaroth fanboi

  • @throxnet does your keyboard just got the letters f a n b o and i? poor guy, tell your mom to give you some money to get a new 1 :)

  • @TheMaroth fanboi

  • @22j77 It's individual driving styles, Michael And Kimi Raikkonen had the same preference, the nose sticks where its put and the back pretty much steers itself.

  • @22j77 and your point is...?

  • this track seems fun

  • Please bring back Adelaide as the Australian GP, the Melbourne circuit is a bit boring.

  • I think, tahat both Adelaide and Melbourne are very intresting. So come on, bring back Adelaide, but in old layout.

  • @kzbxvz Australia is lucky to have 2 great circuits. Melbourne is a great little track.

Unlike the 2 Spanish circuits. :S

  • @KINGOSWALD Which Spanish circuit's do you mean? Circuit de Jerez, circuit de Catalunya or the Jerez circuit???

  • @KINGOSWALD What´s wrong with the street circuit in Valencia? I think it´s a fantastic track!

  • Still No. 1 !...and4ever...!

  • love the sound of the ford v8

  • The two green buttons do automatic downshifts. The upper one downshifts automatically 4 gears under braking, the bottom one downshifts 5 gears under braking.

  • Would schumacher have been as good in this years cars??

It maybe that jenson is perfect in 2009Such a smooth driver like prost was!

  • To be honest driver aids closed the gap between the great drivers and the good drivers. However, drivers like Vettel, Alonso and Hamilton that have that 'feel' would be competitive also. Button has the touch in the wet but I don't believe he is able to drive a poor handling car as well as the others I mentioned.

Schumacher vs Vettel vs Alonso vs Hamilton - traction control = entertainment.

  • Exactly

  • Jenson is very good, but Schumacher is about 0.1% better than any other living(!) racing driver. 0.1% on a 2 minute lap: 0.12 sec.

It's not much, but when done consistently with the right gear, it makes you 7 times world champion F1.

  • Very good answer indeed:). Pretty self explanatory of what F1 is all about in my mind.

  • we may well find out soon :P

  • Electronics lowered the rear of the car in a straight line thus decreasing aerodynamics thus greater the speed in a straight line. Benetton in 93 also had 4wheel steer.

  • 0:07 you can see he uses some electronics device to help to not lock the rear tyre during hard brake or to help the traction out of the corner. You can understand it by the "brat-brat" engine sounds...And at 0:48,here it again...Look at the finger on the green button.

  • by the way...don't misunderstand me...Every team use that sort of electronic device in that day, even Senna.Seems like an automatic downshift program now that i look it more careful.

  • They were allowed in 1993...

  • You don't even read a word about my 2 comments probably....

  • I did but as I read this comment I think I misinterpreted yours. When you watch Schumacher Videos one might think that every comment about electronic helps are supposed to say that Schumacher could not drive without them etc.

I think you did not want to say this so I apologize.

  • WHEEL HOP!! at .11

  • 2nd best car of the season, but Williams were too far ahead. McLaren were hugely disappoing with their car. Hakkinen was much slower in the race than the Benetton.

  • If this vids is really Schuey in Adelaide 93, the difference between this lap and the one recorded on Senna, the difference is outstanding.... Schuey is far from being smooth here. Ayrton, on the contrary, seems to Prost! Maybe Schuey had his tyres a little bit cooked and need to be hard on the handling, sometimes almost over-correcting the behaviour of his car... It seems as if Schuey's car had no electronic aids! Is this lap Adelaide 93 really?

  • That is Schumacher. In 1993 he changed his helmet design a little then reverted back to his original in 1994. You will notice that this lap is Qualifying or practise - it is much sunnier, some of the stands are half empty. Every gp weekend I've been to the cars always push harder on Friday and Saturday and there are so many more "offs" then. I think Shuey is probably just pushing harder. Remember he was the up and coming young gun then, 24 years old. Senna's lap was with him leading mid race.

  • Thanks for the info Bruce! Now, have you ever watched at Senna's on board qualy lap? Not the one by middle race but his qualy lap... Even when his driving is a little bit harder than the other on board camera, He is definetively smoother than Schuey, even when Senna was 2 sec faster than him or so.... I guess McLaren chassis, at that stage of the season (unfortunately for Senna, the last race), was quite good... Better than Benetton and Williams (specially in regard to chassis)....

  • Oh no question 1993 Senna vs 1993 Schumacher Aytron was smooth as silk in comparison. As for the chassis I remember Ron Dennis saying it was one of their best ever. Beautiful looking too.

  • MP4/8 was best McLaren chassis of that era, but after all the others McLaren where poor while benefiting from a super engine. unfortunately the chassis was not as good as Benetton B193 on aerodynamic side, so Benetton was better on fast tracks like Spa, Silverstone, Magny Cours, Hockenheim, Estoril. McLaren had a super Electronic package from Tag Electronics Inc. the final step for the ultimate three races was very good.

  • Senna was extremely quick and at the same time his mistakes during a qualifying lap were so rare it's unbelievable. Schuey was extremely quick as well, but did not have that perfection. in fact, you saw him very often correct or going braking too late, losing the line etc.

  • smooth driving

  • hmmm... sure this isnt 1992?

no sign of any TC here, you can see in the handling. yet the B193 had TC for the mid-latter season... :S

  • Thanks for the memories Adelaide. Never been the same since.

  • The main straight goes right past my school.

  • I miss the Adelaide Street Circuit. It had some memories there.

  • all good memories for sure and excellent racing for F1 and the V8's

  • É por isto que digo que hoje ainda não há nenhum como ele, passou por duas gerações de carros, aqui com muito pouca electrónica e onde era preciso saber conduzir e já no final da sua carreira com um carro completamente diferente onde só falta tirar cafés...

  • The cars are so different today...but there is something really amazing about these cars when you see onboard shots...i cant put my finger on what it is....i guess its the sound and the way they handle...it looks like it took more skill to handle them compared to today.

  • I was there for this race. My first and last gran prix. I ilive in Canada but was in Oz for that year . Last year they had the gran prix in adelaide.

  • Cool, awesome. Except can I correct you on something. If you are saying "Last year they had the gran prix in adelaide" as the GP was held in Adelaide in 2007, then you are wrong, last year, like many years before it it was held in Albert Park, Melbourne. And if you are saying that as in 1993 was the last year the GP was held in Adelaide, then you are still wrong, the last year for the GP to be held in Adelaide was 1995. I dont mean to sound to over corrective, just being freindly!

  • ok i was here at this race then .. I was at last grand prix adelaide in 1995 THX.. Forgot wght year I was there exactly but know i know for sure. IM pretty sure Schaumaker won.. I was selling shirts for a hostel and sunglasses. They were FAKE TAg heur shirts that said, SUCCESS its a mind GAME < on the back. We came from Ayres rock in a camper that cost 80 dollars for 4 days because they needed a driver to bring it to adelaide. Me one german 2 danish birds and tone english tart. WOOT

  • Schumacker never won in Adelaide. I think he won in Melbourne, but never in Adelaide. In 91 Senna won, 92 I think it was Berger, 93 Senna again, 94 Mansell and, finally, 95 Hill won:)

  • Just some info for Ivegotthenuts:)

  • i don't think so I was there trust me your right hill did win. wow so long I forgot thx man. I drove from Alice springs with an English bird and two danish chicks. I was at last grand prix Adelaide was awesome

  • You´re welcome. It must have been a cool day for you:) I never went to a f1 race, but I MUST one day:). Yeah, Hill did win that last gp, but schumacker won so many races that year:).See you

P.s: Did you keept one off those t shirts for you? You should;)

  • i had that shirt for years but eventually holes got tin it and ilost it. Ya that year was awsome.

  • eheheh, damn time, ruins memories:). Well, the mental memories remain;) See you.

  • Schumachers best position in Adelaide was a 2nd place in 1992

  • I didn´t know that. All I know is that he never won there. I wish I had started earlier watching f1 races:) I have some of that early 90´s races on digital format now, but not enough;)

  • Can you port some videos of them here? I've got an old video from Detroit 1987. If someone want me to put it in, I can do it.

  • thx know I really know what year I was there. I was selling t shirts Tag Huere ones that said " success its a mind game on the back" Sweeet

  • the last grand prix they had in adelaide was 1995, not 1993

  • Remarkable how F1 cars changed from when Schumacher started to his retirement.

Not all for the good either.

  • it ended in 2004, 2007 f1 cars werent even close as fast as they were in 2004, but best was the ferrari 412t and its SOUND

  • lol the telemetry sucks

  • great track, adelaide. too bad it has been canceled. he did 290 on the straight, back in the turbo era in the 80s they went 340 kph at that section

  • for real? 340 kph back in the 80's?

  • I know ay, it was a bloody good grand prix, that would have been a dream to see them. Melbourne's GP is good, but it never captured the magic of Adelaide's.

  • very good comment,,,, adelaide was a very big party affair with the racing included lol, my dad was a flag marshal at all ten GP's in SA and its deeply missed !!!!

  • nice angle...

  • Good speed.. 291Km/h..

  • f1 cars should go back a few decades when it comes to driving aids like abs, traction control, flippy gear shift - it should really come down to the drivers abillity thats what all of use would rather see is it not? seeing a car spin out in the dry is a rare thing now, that thing of missing a GEAR is well in the past, bring some of the skill back please!

  • In 2008, Formula 1 will introduce a single ECU for everybody and will ban traction control.

  • @nrieli

Yeah... Damn right... And what about those turbos mate?

Oh I also want them side skirts that produced so much downforce that the drivers had their helmets tied with elastic ropes...

  • At 00:20 is the corner where MS would throw eggs in his face with the title-winning crash with Damon Hill a year later.

  • and mature faeces. . .hmmmmmmmmmmmmm!

  • who did the telemetry Amstrad ..it cant even keep up with his throlle movements LOL

  • Olivetti

  • adelaide ruled the f1 calender. The whole city got behind the race and it became an awesome event. Melbourne cant sell all there tickets and not even the v8's wanna turn up

  • Adelaide - great days, great era. Australian Grand Prix isn't the same anymore. i'm glad I was around for the Adelaide era - it was something special.

  • A driver on the edge of greatness (though tainted by moments of sheer loonacy) and a car that really capitalised on the mid 90's slow down of McLaren & Ferrari.

  • Oh and notice how smooth the ride is because of the active suspension!

  • Those 1992/3 cars were cool, active suspension, traction control and mclaren even had software that could change the car setup for each corner while the car was racing!

  • Senna beat Schumacher with ease at this race, in the slower McLaren, he also beat Prost in the Williams Supercar.

  • Excellent video, reminds me of the good ol' days in F1! I miss Adelaide loads, Albert Park sucks.

  • albert park does not suck, its not as good as adelaide but it definately doesnt suck. albert park is one of the best on the calender, so much shit happans in the races there.

  • So much shit happens in Albert Park that it becomes shit itself. It sucks, pure and proper. Adelaide rules!

  • " So much shit happens in Albert Park that it becomes shit itself". WOOOOW!!!!

  • right on brother

  • damn right my sexy chuddie! what did you post again?

  • LOL, brilliant.

  • yeaa are they more videos with telemetry ?? LOL..great video thanks..

  • Don't anybody post the nasty incident involving Schumi and Hill at this track in the following year! It's too painful to ever see again.

  • are they any more videos with the telemetry?

  • Best Australian Grand Prix track ;)

  • Benetton had semi auto gears, and TC in 1993.

  • THAT WAS NEVER PROVEN!and besides,if there was that stuff,he wouldnt be countersteering this much.

  • I did not need to be proven, because it was all legal in 1993. 1994 was the year, which brought up the discussion if Benetton used TC illegally.

  • cool lap...it looks like the ABS engaged as he was braking for turn 2!

  • The Benneton didn't have ABS. It had active suspension, 4 wheel steering and TCS.

  • Yeah, only Williams used ABS in the races.

I think the 4 wheel steering was only tested by Benetton, I am not sure, if it was used in any Grand Prix.

  • He makes it look so easy

  • thanks heaps dude

  • Lots of opposite lock...he's really on it in the lap
