@wajalama The 1jz never came with the sc300. In fact, the 1jz never came to America, and is here only through gray market imports. The 300 in sc300 is indicitive of the 3.0L i6 2jz-ge, as opposed to the sc400's 4.0L v8 (1uz- something i forget), or the Supra's turbo 3.0L 2jz-gte. The 1jz's had a longer production run, are cheaper, have a shorter stroke, higher revving capacity, and are already turbo, as compared to the 2jz-ge which is naturally aspirated.
Nice. I just got a JZZ30 soarer 1jzgte engine for my A70 supra, looking forward to driving it. Just need a set of motor mount brackets and it should drop in (err... plus some wiring). The JZZ30 1jz has a clutch fan and rear sump pan already, same as the A70 chassis.
Also, for those of you that don't know, 309whp is roughly 340-360hp at the crank (depending on the driveline losses). I'd say a 60-80hp HP gain is good for the mods.

id say his result is a bit rare, or perhaps even tuned somewhat. they usually dyno about 220-240whp in auto trim, or 240-260 in manual. since the stock boost is generally 10.5 psi on good turbos, just a boost controller and a boost cut defencer with some light piggy back tuning should get you on your way. otherwise dont expect such high numbers from small mods. i have all the mods as most soarer that are bpu+ like me and put out 260whp in an auto. but im pig rich in boost below the 9s

I know i'm slower just because i'm running of like a turbo and a half. soon i'll turbo it up to 18, blow um up and put my single on the same day! I'm so close to having ever last piece.

That's trash! My 00' sc400 with custom headers, x-pipe, mufflers would be beat your car. Sadly you spent all that money getting a shitty 1jz into your car, u should have gone NA-T and use better internals. At 16psi in that with a single turbo you'd be at around 450, something respectable.
