I can't understand what the Bengals were thinking in drafting Klingler. He never played well against top competition. He racked the numbers by beating up on teams that didn't have the players to defend the offense. Did anyone in the organization look at the game tapes?

UH has played UT 25 times. The last being in 2002. Since the two teams were both in the old Southwest Conference, they had the opportunity to play each other regularly from the 1970s until 1995 when the conference was disbanded.

The last time the Cougars beat the Longhorns was in 1991.

people please do not let your school pride get in the way of the truth. the big 12 is a weak conference and is highly over rated. that was proven this year. ut was only good b/c of vince young. lets also not forget to notice how ut, a&m, or and of the big 12 teams want to play uh after we got rid of that crap coach dana dimmel. big 12 is scared that uh will beat some of their teams. it really wouldn't surprise me though.

You're right.  Texas will regularly play Rice these days, one of weakest teams in C-USA, but haven't played Houston since '02.

Well, SMU is now, but when I wrote this, everyone was still caught up in the whole June Jones thing, and Rice was coming off a bad season with a new coach.

I agree that SMU is pretty much the worst football team in C-USA right now, but Rice has also been consistently bad. They just made it to their first bowl game since the 1950s.

Can you believe it that SMU is now bowl eligible and as of right now leading the Western Conference of the Conference USA. I mean that's unheard of of SMU being a bowl game since the Death Penalty of 20 years ago. Also it took 2 years for him to turn SMU around.

Texas stopped playing Houston in 2002 because Houston pulled a bush-league move on UT discovering that a second of their stands were built poorly and were unsafe to use. This section was where some of the visitor's seats were. So a bunch of paying Texas fans were barred from entering the game with their tickets and told to watch the game elsewhere. That's why Texas won't play Houston any more.

I enjoyed Oregon beating down on Houston. You still wouldn't last against a good Pac 10 team. Us no class, are kidding me we had a person die in a car accident back in 1999 and against UNC we put 44 points and instead of kicking the extra point we need the ball for the Pitman family and retired his number. Yeah we barely beat Arkansas State, but we still won even though you didn't.

One more thing Texas is probably going to face ranked Nebraska, OU, Texas Tech, and Texas A&M in our conference including when ranked TCU comes into town. We've made a bowl game the last 10 years and faced good quality opponents like Ohio State, Michigan, and USC. Houston wouldn't deserve a spot if Baylor left the Big 12.

If you think that the Cougars are going to beat the Tide and Ducks that's laughable. Those players weren't even starters anyway so they were going to be rooted out and plus those coaches can't watch players 24/7. And how do we cheat? Now that was a team, but they couldn't win it when it really mattered, hell you lost to NC State, you should blown them out, but you didn't. Texas may not be the best, but they'll at least make the NCAA bracket and another thing we got fans that actually show up during the game. We have a hard conference in basketball with A&M now being good, Tech with Bobby Knight, and Kansas.

This guy won 10 games his first season as starter, took them to a bowl game and won it and Vince lost his first bowl game, he lead a 21 point comeback against Texas Tech the highest ranked offense and then a comeback win over Nebraska in LINCOLN where its a hard away game for any team to win. He beat OU his first try and he doesn't slide when he scrambles. Of course would get injured if they got hit in the head.

Our team history we haven't been the worst team with 0 wins in 2001 or have 1 win season games ever. UH offense is averaging 36 points and more than 500 yards. I think the Cougars will be able to sleep with the lights off the night before they played Tech. UH has owned Tech through the years, so they are an afterthought. UH had more yards in the first half against South Carolina than eventual national champion Florida had against them the entire game last year. If the Tech offensve was so explosive why do they go 8-4 every year?
