  • I saw the the color field? You like and Val yours is the best. It inspires magic to me.

  • Two little ant dudes on the left shooting paint ball strings at the ant dude on the right who is holding on to his violin while flipping them off as he tries not fall off the painting. = Title?

  • I really enjoy these videos because Val explains the art. I did not know what colour field was. I was one of those who poo poo that style. Now I will reconsider it.

  • Color is the universal language. As is ART! Great video :)

  • Nessie hello again

  • I love you, let's get married.

  • it reminds me of buildings being hit by sunshine

  • Love your art videos... :-) Very inspiring for all artists.. poets as well!

  • where is your accent from? its adorable

  • I find your moody videos interestingly warm; and your paintings tell stories :) every episode is a feast, thanks

¡FELICIDADES!

  • Since we're dealing here with the mind and all minds are different all will see this art form differently. Some people only see surface things. All art...any art...is an extension or representation of the artist. art (any form) is accepted or rejected by the artist...not by the art itself. Andy Warhol Napkin Drawing, ca. 1983 is appraised at $30,000. Even though any child could do the same drawing and probably do it better than Warhol did it. But the Warhol doodle is Warhol in art form.

  • Thankyou

  • The universal language is Mathematics.

  • val u are so beautiful:)

  • 6)And finally you will witness that all works of art are already concieved in the spiritual realm waiting for an open mind of art and a heart of love to bring it down to earth as a gift for mankind. Thanks for reading. All the best for you "The new me"!!!!

  • 5)You cannot go wrong if you dedicate yourself to your highest source of your individual spark of life. To be true to oneself is a great art and will not be forgotten ever...as your individual manifestation which was drawn down to this planet by your effort to make a difference will be treasured.

  • 4) Many artist go for the nice feeling to be enfolded by some "higher" energy without being able to discern the level of counsciousness which it comes from. But...decide for yourself for whom you like to be a chanell in arts. .

  • 3)If the result, however, is only a mainstream of of presently dysfunctional modern behaviour....welll...and if it seems to disvaluate the beautifulness of the "real" life ( no matter from which side of the veil) you may realize it is just a very low spirit who is looking for some egotistical mind through which he/she can work somehow without having a body.

  • 2)Usually one can see it by the results...(provided one is able to trust his/her own inner awareness) If they are uplifting and revealing a spiritual truth which was unknown before, it might have been a pure and clean inspiration. continued

    Hi, dear precious Lady,

having watched and viewed some of your presentations deeply, I want to tell you that each and every artist is a medium, a channel for higher realms. So you might be able to manifest some unseen realities which occur only by inspired gifted artists. The question is always: who from the other side of the veil is manifesting him/herself by channels of the spirit and working through the artist

    (contin..)

  • Hi, you are so beautiful and funny!

  • beautiful woman and sexy accent!

  • pretty.. but i miss the old Val!!!!!!

  • artistically creative people are so awesome

  • what ever happened to good ol bowls of fruit?

  • Your Kholar field is nice!

  • Color Field Art is interesting. The emphasis on color reminds me of the dynamically bold and vivid comic book covers from the 1970's. The books in my collection still excite a visceral effect on me. I have scanned many of the covers so that I can view them on my computer at any time without pulling out the actual books. Eat your cookies!

  • hugs!!! you rock

  • They look nice as a set. Great video! I got paintings but still working on editing ideas for youtube. Do you have any tips? You can see my vid on my channel. Thanks.

  • I'm not gonna lie I thought these kind of paintings where big splashes of paint on them until you put it in that perspective. I also think that when artist say what they see in their paintings it helps me see were they are coming from, like you gave your painting meaning. great vid.

  • @rm84tv They are still big splashes of paint... Interesting video tho :)

  • Music is too loud vs. your voice

  • Beautifully as you

  • Beautiful, art comes in many forms and happily this is one of them. It has a similarity to abstract art, in the sense that the meaning can be different for each person who has the privilege to view it. The meaning maybe as simple or complex as the emotion, and feelings that it causes you to have when you experience it. Thank you for another beautiful video.

  • I understand everything you meant about color field art, and your picture and the others you displayed in the video were quite nice (well there was one I didn't find very appealing) but I still prefer other types of painting. I prefer paintings of people, landscapes, and other discernible things, shown with precise detail, that's my taste anyway. Color field art just isn't all that interesting to me.

  • I thought it looked like golden gate bridge o.O

  • @xESOTERlC it does!!

  • man another great video, i really liked the painting. it was really inspiring.

  • Sorry to bother you Val but what was the name of the Barnett Newman piece at 2:43? I haven't found anything in google. Thank you!

  • i think once an artist has shown how much talent they have, they can sell anything. It becomes more about who painted it than the artwork itself.

I'm not a fan of this art style however it does have its place in the art world..art is to express yourself in any way, so it is still art, even if a child could paint it

  • Beauuuuuutiful!

  • why are you giving me the urge to get a grip on myself?

  • That's was sommaway delightful! Rare things which gimme some uplift, Val's vids, dunno why. "Things can't get worser" lol they always can. And evidently do. Proofs that "not giving up" is not futile unless you dive straight to emptiness lol

  • Very interesting to hear the theory behind this art. I still think it fails as a form of painting because it cannot convey the message through the painting. Val is an artist and when she's there with the painting explaining it, its art. Take away Val and the explination and it's nothing.

  • wow, i really like this kind of video! i feel so much much wiser now : )

  • I saw my old town in Italy during sunset in the summer.

  • I gave you 5 stars for the way you pronounce colour.

  • Val's Art Diary Ester Bunny Giveaway day #1 Today's best/funniest comment about my vid- wins a tasty bunny treat! (+'.'+) ---> see vid description :D

  • Easter bunny is not happy with the mispelling of his name.

But he gives you hot-cross buns anyway :)

  • I've always had very creative and talented friends in a wide variety of artistic endeavors but never in painting for some reason. I've learned more about painting from watching your videos than I have from any other place. So thanks for that, and as usual, I really liked this painting.

  • I want to see Val do a celebrity test lap on Top Gear! :D

  • Sunrise on Mars.

  • I too see the Golden Gate bridge there...all yellow and happy...:)

  • i dunno. i think you are less cut for the abstract form judging from this one presentation. need more flair and surprising unpredictability. but perhaps you might prove me wrong.

  • Morris Louis' painting makes me think of Dante's Inferno =P

Nice painting. Yellow makes me think of Easter ^_^ Easter = Spring = More Sun =D

    Good on ya!

  • I'm hungry for cookies.

  • Wow I really love that painting :) My favorite art is abstract considering my mind is way active so giving it a puzzle is nice :)

    xoxo

  • i actually paint with jam ..... am i the only one who does that?

  • @JK182ify Some people paint with faeces ;)

At least jam is more tasty xD

  • Fresh baked goods!

     ~Transcendental~ ...Rothko RULES!

  • I see the Verazano Bridge from Brooklyn in your painting.

  • I see the golden gate bridge.

It's given me a great idea for my next painting :^)

  • do you have ADD?

  • You are so inspirational. I was hoping to see you throw a dart though. ;-( Do you not do this every time?

  • No offence to the masters but I think yours is better. ;)

So happy to be seeing some more art videos.!

  • How great you're using Helen Frankenthaler as an inspiration! And I love your talking about your art. Best wishes!

  • I have done painting that look like my kids could have done it..lol

    **Kisses**

  • great video as always

  • Sorry, I love most of your art but I don't get the whole color field thing... Color is nice but it seems kinda boring. And one of the paintings you showed was three stripes of paint lol...

  • one of my favorite things in the world is color so this type of art is right down my alley

    :)

  • Not to be rude but I wish I could kiss those lips, even if just for 1 second. Love you and your art Val.

  • it reminds me of the san francisco bridge in sunrise.Great work batwomen now back to the batmobile we have fiends to catch!

  • Looking through the piers

    At a sunset

    On the shores of Orion

  • I love Val. I've been following this channel for a couple years now.

  • Yeah, at first I was thinking "yeah, what is the WTF?" but when I saw that second Helen Frankenthaler painting it really did give me that sense of "infinity." That picture is pretty cool, even though it is simple.

It's funny, I used to just think "art is art. Whatever." But these videos have educated me on the different types and purposes of art.

    Thanks, Val.

  • It looks like a sunrise superimposed on a bridge :P Very cool

  • Still the best art channel on YouTube...

  • Your art.. choice of music... lulling voice...

all, so very relaxing and simultaneously enticing

  • When I was a kid I used to do colorfield all the time.

  • Your videos makes me happy =D

  • looks like random splashes of paint on a canvas =/ I'm not very artistic.

  • I love abstract

  • the background track is too loud. it makes it hard to listen to what you're saying.

  • great video. thank you

  • gahh I love watching paint go on a canvas. I think color field art would be even more expressive if it didn't use brushes thoo

  • I love the mark making element of abstract art ....reacting line or color everyone can get something out these abstract painting.....lol i love art haha

  • Haven't seen you in a long time =P glad to see you're still doing what you love!!!

  • I love this val :) i thought i wasnt very good at art when i was in school, due to my artwork not being neat. now i am older i now theres more from art. an you have just proved how easy and basic art CAN be :)

  • love your videos:)

  • Yaaay- it made me happy. But now I wanna cookie!

  • I consider myself to be a huge color field artist. I do other things too, but I always go back.

    i love it!

    dunielleV

  • Thank you for this! I have a new appreciation for this kind of art :)

  • dont like that kind of art forms but much respect for it.. have u ever try Graffiti art style with paint and a canvas ???? will love to see it on ur video.

  • Hey Val, How are Youuuuu?

What did you get your mum(Mom) for mothers day?

  • Wow. I love this type of art. :O

  • Cookies! The solution to all of life's problems. Nice vid Val.

  • Awesome painting Val--very bright and cheerful.

  • color

  • I saw it as a bridge.....

  • hmmm. I see a bridge...

    anywho, great video...

  • ,jhfjhfjf,jhjj

  • thanks for the WTF explaination, color field that's new to me, it's beautiful!

  • Really cool, loved those pieces you showed, i get the feeling you like Helen Frankenthaler? :P It's the kind of stuff i would love to hang on my walls. Don't forget to push your clocks forward folks!

  • you make me happy!

  • I see the Golden gate bridge - if the bridge was in a dream.

  • Good video and great work on the painting. I dont look at art much now, but I always look for shapes in abstract things, just to see what I can, well... see.

    Where are you from?

  • I like cookies too. maybe we should hang out. why won't anyone make a white chocolate chip cookie without the macadamia nuts?

  • always interesting to see what you do...

  • Hi Val, I really enjoyed this episode.

I saw some Rothko paintings at Tate Modern in London and thought they were quite powerful. Just one or two colours, but they can be interpreted in infinite ways. A canvas just covered in bright red paint seemed particularly intense.

  • People the world over see the same things, formed in the same colors: plants green, sky blue, earth brown... so I guess color alone can say something.

  • I needed that, Lovely !!!

  • Colourfield is so much more than it seems initially

  • colour is not a universal language at all. example:

In the western culture, the colour white stands for innocence, whereas in Japan, white stands for death. In the western culture death has the colour black.

  • you're gorgeous.

  • You said your kid could have done it? You have a child?

  • no, I said that some ppl usually think kids can do this type art and there is not much too it :)

  • u say sun rise. i see the whole day:

the first panel is the morning with orange like a sun rise. in the second panel,i see a lot of yellow like the sun at its apex and the reddish color looks like shadows in the afternoon. in the last panel the red reminds me of rust and how the colors converge at right is like the conclusion of the day.

@TomModernMedia it does look like a bridge

  • Wow, great duo here with you on one side and your sunset on the other. You look so cheery and full of energy, exactly how your sunset feels; the colour you chose perfectly reflects the excitement in your voice and manner. Seems you have conveyed your own sense of vibrancy into the painting :D

  • It almost looks like a an abstract city scape to me =D

I love color field art! People always think I don't like simply people I tend to paint more realistic things =/ It's nice to get lost in a painting where the subject isn't laid out for you.

  • ughhh I hate when YouTube doesn't show my comments lol

    Okay here's my 3rd go..

Great video Val!! I love color field too =) More about the feeling, and that is truly universal!

So Val, who is your all time favorite color field artist?

  • Its Sunday evening, it must be time for Val to appear..and appear she does :)

    -

Sometimes such paintings 'work' in my view, but often not. I guess I like ALL the canvas covered in colour, not just a bit.

*I especially liked the Blue/yellow pic by Nolan'. Those are the colours for me.

  • I like some color field art, depending on how its done. If the color flows together in the right way it looks really good.

I liked yours mainly because you had cookies with it. ;) aww just kidding it looked really nice, I liked it. :)

  • Val, I <3 You.

  • great job on the videos hope to see more i love art and i think you make a good art teacher.

  • @jacob60617 thanks!!!

  • great video i love watching them so much. thanks for having the time to make these great videos!!!

  • @jacob60617 oh wow thanks sooooooo much 2 u :D

  • eLLO VaL

  • @trafficdreamer hi! how is it going?

  • pretty

  • Color field to me is the truth of ones feelings hidden, coming out wanting to be shown... You can try painting with bright colors when your down.. but you tend to choose darker colors and just the opposite when your hopeful.. to me.. that is Color field

  • @Pokiejoe17 thanks for sharing this :) awesome comment!

  • Comment removed

  • @Vatsek why?

  • Comment removed

  • Why would she want to watch your video after a stupid (and untrue) comment like that?

  • @valsartdiary ifi did a painting like that it would be black and grey

  • it looks like a bridge! :)

  • Hi Val , Thanks for sharing . I love your energy............

  • "A Pooty Popper" ROFL!!!!!! I'm using this

  • @willbraham I always always say it wrong... ahhhh

  • Val, you are the new, modern Bob Ross, except beautiful and not stoned.

    God bless~

  • @willbraham haha well thanks!

  • @willbraham was he stoned? i didnt know

  • That was a joke. lol.

I was curious if there was anyway to purchase or win 1 or all of the paintings in this series? They really are beautiful and inspiring.

  • I think this painting is meant to be seen as a whole- hehe all of them put together - are about 18" x 60" x 1.5" --- so the size its part of the effect :) if interested shoot me a line @ artandcookiesATGMAILdotcom thanks so much!!! va

  • "But could he really....."?

  • I like abstract. The story is mine to create ........

  • Have you ever had a "blondie?" It's like a double thickness cookie. It's pretty yum, like you. ;P *wink*

  • A pooty popper? You mean party pooper? Haha.

  • yes, but I always say it wrong in the moment!

  • @valsartdiary hey val what kind of camera do you use to film? Thanks and keep making good product.

  • A bridge at sunrise?

    Right?

  • That painting is so beautiful. I wish I had your talent and creativity, Val.

Thank you, that really touched me.

  • Yellow and red; Happily in love! :-)) Awesome painting Val. And yes, I love this kind of painting.

  • owo agora você ned para tentar art with LEGO.

  • Hi guys!

  • @valsartdiary very well done val <3 I always love how you don't make the paint be two dimensional, how with the acrylic you use the paint sort of puffs out and you leave it that way! I like seeing the contours of the paint when the bristles of the brush smooth it.

  • awesome job val :D

  • awesome!!!

  • These paintings are amazing!! I love color field. More about the feeling that you get, and feeling is universal =)

So Val, who is your ultimate favorite color field artist?

  • @AcademyArtVenture mmmmmm I will haveto think about that...

  • yay

  • lol

    yay

  • Happy Sunday Val,

I have a theory that the first universal word is "ow', ha ha. Now to see what you've done for us today!

  • @lloydhofer :D :D
