It's so stupid that people would boycott this film, I don't see these same people boycotting other movies based off of real life incidents. I don't see why people like the Beatles anyway, every one of there songs are the same with hippy lyrics and a kind of elevator music tone, there music is horrible and boring and John Lennon was no great Mother Theresa, all he did was make crappy songs, abuse drugs and collect big fat checks and hang out with pseudo intellectual New York artist yuppies .

The film doesn't moralize Chapman, you thick-headed blokes. It shows you how insane and obsessive the bugger was. It shows how much of a great mean Lennon was with the use of vintage footage of mourners with their sings.
