You relinquish your privacy if you leave the *inside* of your house. If you are outside in the yard or on the roof, someone can film or take pictures of you & there is nothing you can do about it. However, if you are inside, there is a "expected reason of privacy" law that applies to most ( if not all ) states here in the US. It doesn't matter if you are in a vehicle, a building, etc.
You never have had privacy once you leave the inside of your home.
IMO, if one doesn't want to go through the body scanners or the pat downs by the TSA, than just don't get on the airplane. Simple as that. You can still drive, take a bus, train, or boat to where you want to go. I'll take the body scan over the pat-down because if someone touches my junk, there's gonna be a problem and especially so if its a man that does it. If it's a woman, I'm going to tell her she better come into one of those hideaway rooms with me because I want her to complete her job :-)
@skylarportland I think you being up a very good point. Flying is a luxury, not a right. Some people talk about it like flying is a right and a necessity opposed to a luxury which is what it is. It saves time on travelling somewhere. It is a luxury. And as you pointed out, there are certainly other modes of tranportation if a person is so opposed to these new measures that they can't fly.
@Cavaliersin07 Yep, exactly. Flying is a luxury. If you can afford to fly somewhere, consider yourself lucky than over 75% of the American public who can't afford it.
@skylarportland I agree with the gender thing. I am gonna have a problem with a dude feeling around my junk. I would prefer a woman! I actually would volunteer for the pat down if I could get a woman to do it! Bring it on! haha
@Cavaliersin07 hahaha, yeah go through the body scan and then you notice an attractive female TSA person and be like "oh, I want to volunteer for a pat down from that woman there!" and when she goes to pat me down, I need to tell her unbuckle my pants first, as it will make it more comfortable for both of us, especially since I am standing up to begin with! :-) oh yeah...
Actually, as a private investigator, most states ( if not all ) you relinquish any privacy you have once you leave your own house. Most people are too stupid to realize this, but it's true.
I should elaborate more on my 1st comment:
