  • Nice instructional video. I would have never figured out that it was a winding mechanism. How does the firing mechanism work? Is it a double action hammer, just like on revolvers or is it a striker type firing pin like on Glock pistols?

  • Don't try this at home kids, go to your local trailerpark!

  • thats not a "Machine gun" its semi-automatic

  • TF2 pyro is gonna be updated with this baby

  • Nice streetsweeper. Where'd you find that?

  • The Eagle of Germany has been around far long before it became associated with the empire that we fought in the first world war, and before that perversion carrying a swastika was drummed up. When Germany was functioning as a republic it did so bearing the revolutionary colors of black red and gold, the nations that the US fought bore black white and red. The Republic's flag is a piece of heritage to be proud of.

  • There's something to fire while sliding in your 911 on the 'ring.

  • This is for the pussy's out in the wild who doesn't think the helicopter can see the one flare in the sky. So why not shoot more.

  • if your such a trained profesional then why the heck do you keep pointing the firearm towards the camera man!!!!!!!!!????????

  • Ref: @RJRiegler1 comment:

Well stated. Many so called professionals ignorantly wield weapons whist allowing the gun barrel to momentarily sweep across the direction of innocent people. Two words need to be taught to all who handle firearms, crossbows, BB guns, or any other projectile firing device; MUZZLE AWARENESS. I say again: MUZZLE AWARENESS. Now all of you say it to yourselves: MUZZLE AWARENESS. Like a broken record you should pound it into everyone who handles weaponry. SAY IT!

  • sorta looks like a tommy gun

  • That's was intresting and I got one guestion for you.(Dumdmechanic) Can you build flare gun what fire four flare at same times?(some sort of shotgun or something) I'm just asking, but it would be nice if you try build that kind of flare gun.

  • ill buy it

  • TAKE ME TO YOUR LEADER!!!!

  • Is this really holding down the trigger firing that slow or is it semi automatic?

  • Some history:

These were used primarily for riot control by police and prison guards with the use of teargas rounds. It was not originally envisioned to be used with flare or smoke rounds, although these are perfectly fine to use in the units providing they are not the high pressure rounds.

I would have greatly liked to have seen how many revolutions you wound it, when you had a full magazine as that was not shown?

  • Hundzy thanks for your input I have all the original documents and advertizment literature from Charles J. Manville patent No. 2101148 and is clearly advertized as a "Gas Roit Machine Gun". I under stand your point at one time I was a class III dealer. Now I play with my four hunderd antique flare guns. Thanks again Porsche Tech OUT

  • Some details:

The "Machine" in the name denotes that it is not dependent on a manual reloading of the rounds, as the majority of teargas launchers at that time were a single shot unit.

The "Projector" in the name denotes that it will launch or 'project' rounds to a distance.

  • This was a VERY nice demonstration!

However, I do have to make a MAJOR correction.

This is not called the "Manville Machine Gun". The correct name for it is the "Manville Machine Projector" or "Manville Gas Gun".

It is VERY important to make this distinction.

A "machine gun" is an automatic firearm which fires a continuous stream of rounds with one depression of the trigger.

The Manville is only semi-automatic (not automatic). It only fires one round with each depression of the

    trigger.
