There seems to be a lot of delaying backing up. It also looked like (I might be wrong) a few punches came from outside the center line. Also, stance gets a bit wide at times, gonna slow you down some.
@arpaio I agree with the stance. I did notice the punches that were "from outside the center line" but punches can come at you with any angle palms would. Any open hand technique can be made into a fist, from what I gather in my teachings. Along with agreeing about the stance, the posture promotes fighting at a distance not close quarters combat. To each one's own.
@DonovonCrane I'll agree with 'to each one's own', but feel like anything that comes from a 'wing chun true disciple' should demonstrate correct, pure, wing chun technique. I suppose my problem is with the name of the videos rather than with their content.
At the same time, I realize that this is a modified form of Wing Chun I am unfamiliar with. I studied traditional WC for over 20 years and have been teaching it for over 5. The benefits I see in traditional seem lost in this modification.
@jaiharman1 Boxing is SHIT? Wow... i'd love to see you go to the Beijing Sports University and spar one of those guys... if he kicks the shit outta you, will you admit that your WC is shit? I can't believe that you would upload videos of yourself beating up guys who don't know martial arts, and then have the sincerity to say that "WC is a great martial art". You beating up those worthless guys proves nothing about WC or your skills. Spar against Beijing Uni Boxing Team members, or shut up.
@jaiharman1 Muhammad Ali made Joe Frazier, George Foreman look like a nobody? Surely you can't be serious? His fights against Joe Frazier and George Foreman are some of the most celebrated BATTLES in all of boxing history, and the battles could have gone EITHER WAY... Ali did not slaughter those guys by any means... it was a battle all the way... For you to even compare yourself to Ali, while demonstrating WC skills against complete fools... it's a HUGE SIN. Demonstrate against a PRO FIGHTER.
@jaiharman1 Wait... bobbing and weaving, ducking and dodging, covering up and backing away is all a waste of time... but moving forward in a straight line without any angles, not protecting your chin, no head movement at all... that is supposed to be safe? You have a lot of videos of yourself practicing against complete nobodies... how about a video of you practicing against a guy with skills? I bet you will have a lot of head movement and resort back to your 20 years boxing experience!
@aikidoisthebombyeah I didn't say I had 20 years boxing experience, I said 20+ years in different styles including boxing. And boxing is shit. sorry but it is only a sport and I do REAL LIFE self defense. I've had many competition fights in my life including amateur boxing matches so I'm pretty sure I know what works and what doesn't. As for your comment on the nobodies, well, Mohamed Ali made Joe Frasier, George Foreman, Suger Ray Lennard etc look like nobodies. were they? No, He was just good
@jaiharman1 HAHAHA! You excelled yourself! Boxing is shit?! HAHA! That's why you avoid them like a fire! It must be unpleasant to be beaten by ... what did you say?... SHIT!!! HAHA! You do real life self defence? HA! After 20 !!!! years of MA training - that's all you can do?! I mean, you can't even fight a decent Boxer! Bro, grow up and stop making a Lough out of yourself - FIND STRONG OPPONENT AND FIGHT HIM - SHOW US WHAT YOU ARE WORTH
i love how there is absolutely no head movement, no slips, no feints, no changing levels.... just charging forward in a straight line with your chin exposed and only using 1 punch... way to go!!! WING CHUN TRUE DISCIPLE!!!
@aikidoisthebombyeah Not sure if you are being sarcastic or not but if you are let me point out, I used to be a boxer and also trained in many other martial arts before wing chun. I have over 20 years of experience in the game of fighting and find all that bobbing and weaving, ducking and dodging, covering up and backing away a big waste of time and very dangerous in REAL fighting. It can be good in SPORT when you are trying not to give precious points away but in the RAW world, it is useless!
@jaiharman1 More like not trying to get your head clobbered in by someone who's twice your size or not get your head ripped off. Even Wing Chun practitioners use a crossguard of keeping their hand up. :P You look fine (in fact I think you look good) and it's nice to see wc people spar. But it would be nice to see you spar other people (like boxers please? ^_^ )
Your better off taking a mma class than this. You never chain your way in, or pak sau then chain your way in. May work on some guy that trained for a lil while but on a good guy youll get killed. Check his hands , hit him then finish him with chain if you want. Its common sense.
easyst way to defeat wing chun pracs is dont engage them like that your just gona get chain punched take a step back and make him come to you. all that is was a dude walking into a trap dont walk in....... if sm1 chain punches throw a hook/ hay maker with a 45 degree step/shuffle and youll hit ko everytime. DONT MIRROR THEM THATS WHAT THEY WANT
@fugoung1 not really, most wing chun fighters generally get as close to you as possible then finish it within a matter of seconds, but then again there is any real Wing Chun experts on an extreme high level left
That was excelent! Mann,im getting soo confused! Your videos show that wing chun is so so so effective, but the other videos on youtube suck,I spared with a wing chun guy and I could strike his face very easily using JKD and boxing punches. But your videos display complete efficiency! And one more thing, its just a theory. I think the lower sidekick would be the perfect move againts a stance like yours. What do you think?
Nice work dominating the centre. Also good to see you chain punching correctly with body movement and structure, unlike some of the 'WC' videos where the guy stands there trying to do bicycle punch type movements, or 'reaches' for his opponent. WC combined with BJJ and an outside range kicking/striking art would be the best combo of styles imho - that way all the ranges are covered.
What you used here, is your superior size and leverage from height to gain advantage & chain punch. Try this same thing against someone bigger, & it will work against you. It also does not showcase skill of defense of the WC system. Ive not seen anything like a Tan, bong in here. U often over-reach, and use excess shoulder&body twists, & u lean into an Opp. Very bad & dangerous form in real combat. Not true to the WC system of principles.
@edlo123 thank you for noticing, many people here are slating the fact that it looks like a brawl or not techniques, but its very hard to stick to your technique when are under pressure. so these people cannot see what is right infront of their faces
we have to use hangul ,. 한글(韓契,korea's text ) is very fast , very easy in world ....... why dont you use hangul ? this text is easy and fast than english .. more science here in hangul 한글 !!..
like a wing chun !!! you can write all of sound , voice ...
Wing Chun was developed as a battlefield art. It didn't make sense to go to the ground with an opponent because another enemy soldier could blind side you and kill you.
Sport fighting doesn't allow the "dirty" moves I would need just to stay alive. I would do poorly as a sport fighter. Traditional martial arts focuses on survival. It's one of those things that's good to train but you hope you never need it. I just train to better myself. I'm too lazy to beat anyone up.
I train in Chen Taijiquan and Baji/Piguaquan and I admit that in a MMA fight I would lose when taken to the ground. But as they are traditional martial arts there were create to defend yourself on the battlefield once you lost your weapon and many eye sweeps/pokes, punches to the groin, joint locks/breaks are common. All that to say traditional martial arts and sport based martial arts have purposes and can't really be compared.
Knowing some ground fighting is important but in the self defense perspective going to the ground isn't a good idea because it's concrete and there can be stones or broken glass.I have encountered WC practitioners who used as purely self defense and it was effective even against knife and baseball bat attacks.
Although I practice other martial arts than BJJ and WC, I have to disagree with you. Ground fighting is powerful but in the street going down to the ground can really hurt, it's not a mat but concrete and there cam be stones and glass. Plus there are no rules so there can be multiple opponents, weapons and strikes to usually forbidden areas.
i wanna ask a question and i need an honest answer......can someone train the wing stun style with learning videos only and a partner?......bec i am from egypt (alexandria) and i cant find someone to train me there
Of course you can if you have the determination. The only problem is you might be doing something wrong and you'll never be corrected... so you can, but it might be a poor version of the real thing
you obviously know nothing about real life. Ving Tsun (wing chun) is the most practical for REAL LIFE situations, maybe need to add a little for competitions such as ground fighting but that's about it. please back up your statements if you are going to make ridiculous ones. ok let me back up my statement. groud fighting is half the fight. i know wrestling, judo and ju jitsu, in a fight against a wing tsun practitioner i would take them down rigtht away and rip them appart. wing tsun only works if u can garentee to keep the fight standing, but u can't... that is why when a wing tsun pratitioner is put against a fighter of a different martial art the wing tsun guy gets knocked out. it takes a very long time to learn how to use wing tsun to protect ur self.
i would have to disagree. there is ground fighting in wing chun, for example we have quite a few counters for a single and double leg takedown, as for the ripping apart, im not the greatest fighter in the world by all means, but not even a Gracie would be able to 'rip me apart' it would be a good fight, and they would probably win eventually if it went to the ground due to their vast experience in ground fighting, but i have fought and won against jujitsu practitioners a few times. nothing new
i would also like to point out that the Gracie family came to our school in Beijing, they do believe wing chun is effective and they think that with chun and jujitsu together is formidable, so i think i will listen to them rather than someone off youtube, they, after all came to us we didn't go to them remember. I think you should at least take a look at some of the other fights, wing chun is also good at taking to the ground, but we dont stop until the job is done, no rest not letup
i was tring to point out that wing tsun alone is not very affective. but i have known people who use both aspects of wing tsun and bjj, they say it works great and i believe them. my earlier comment was quite cocky, but the only reason i believe wing tsun is impracticle is due to ur beliefs that multiple punches are better than a large one which is true but in real life only the people with many years of expearience can produce an affective chain punch and that is why, i had no intent to offend.
