What do you mean "Alice is in her correct outfit"? Alice was made up for the movies. And you left out the incredibly silly subplot of her gaining super powers for no reason. Kinda goes against the whole concept of horror and tension when your main character is twice as fast and strong as a normal human and fighting zombies. Slow, generally unthreatening zombies.

well i like the movies but this may be because im a person who has never played the games or seen anything related to the game franchise i took it for what it was - a zombie movie i think if your not a fan of the franchise then it makes for a good movie

Love your reviews but you're wrong about Resident Evil 1. It has virtually nothing to do with the video game. Infact the only resident evil film that had any relation to the games was the animated film Resident Evil: Degeneration which was a pretty good film. I love the Resident Evil games, and trust me the movies have diddly shit to do with them, it's like they just used the name to get people to watch it then made their own movie.

I can safely say the films did NOT cater to the needs of the fans at all. The only Resident Evil film that even has the gall to be called a Resident Evil film is Degeneration. And I swear to God that the character Alice does not exist in the Resident Evil universe, unless she was in one of the obscure spin-offs I didn't play (like Survivor or something).

Speaking as a fan of the Resident Evil games, these two films failed to even appeal to the gamer fan in me.

It's like there were a few props and costumes similar to the game but mostly the films had NOTHING to do with the game in terms of plot or even the overall feel.

If you are a horror fan and have ever been interested in games I really suggest you try Resident Evil.

The acting is far cheesier but it was made by a Japanese company, see it as like a dodgy dub of a classic kung fu movie.

It's a law in Hollywood that when they get an epic story like Resident Evil, they HAVE to ruin it. When the morons making the god awful decisions finally die, then maybe we'll get some decent movies based on video games since Hollywood has epically failed at making a good movie based on a game.

michelle is great iv heard you bitch about a few film and ill give you slack on them, they where terrible, BUT resident evil saga was great, there is not much of a plot to zombie movies anyway, virus, lots of people die, lots of people get transformed and others try and escape by fighting. i just feel as though alice's special powers made the film alot more interesting.

what other zombie movies are worth watching, please dont tell me dawn of the dead, i think there is enough crap i could spout.

i liked this movie personaly, i found it more as an action movie more or less than a horror movie, similar to Planet Terror, and it's a video game movie, those are normaly never that good, but these are pretty fun to watch, they stayed true to the story in a way, ad the action sequences are great

Just a quick note on your comments about the first Resident Evil, the specific train and Alice are not in the games, and as for the licker it is very far off from the creature in the game. Trust me one thing they didn't do in that film was cater to fans of the video games.

They also lifted the entire opening sequence from Resident Evil 2 which just shows how lacking they are in originality. Sure it's nice to see video games translated into film but they completed overlooked the backstory behind Umbrella Corp. Silent Hill is a much better game > movie success in my opinion.
