Talking about the origial Angel Men, I really don't get any tar at all. I've smelt tar before from laying shingles on a roof, roadside construction, etc. and that smell is horrible, however I don't smell anything like that in angel men. What I do smell in the opening and actually throughout the entire fragrance is the patchouli, which has an earthy, almost wet dirt like smell.
