I'm finding that my eeePad will not see ad-hoc networks and there' slots of commentary about that on the web. I haven't found a wifi router for my Windows Mobile phone that does Infrastructure. So, question, is the wifi router your'e using not set up as ad-hoc?
@1Ed11111 If you're running a winmo device, get out of the past (no offense, srsly, read on). I have a TouchPro2 and it's native to WinMo, but dropping an Android Rom onto it makes life a trillion times better, namely, allowing the use of non ad-hoc network setups. Things like my 3DS, for example, can't connect to ad-hoc, but can when Android is running the Rom. If you have a fairly recent model, check out xda-developers. It's as easy as copying files to your SD card, and press "run".
Damn it looks like tegra 2 is faster than my netbook running ubuntu!!!!!!!! Im waiting till tegra kal-el for some qaud core action those things are gonna be insane but atleast tegra 2 tablets are faster than little shitty netbooks lololol
@tallperson117 I've not been able to do it against my nexus one (running cm7.2) or my gingerbread running Galxy tab, however a friend of mine has managed to bluetooth tether his transformer against his LG phone which is running some custom rom or other. The forums suggest other people have managed it as well, most running on motorolla's, so i think it's somehting to do with the bluetooth stach on the host phone rather than the transformer.
@iTooob, I am not sure about you bb but I can use my NOKIA with free sw to enable wifihotspot and it works surprisingly good even through a single brick wall :) , any other phone with this type of feature can work.
Question here! (I'd appreciate if someone answered it); Can I use my 3G connection from another kind of phone insted of android? For example my blackberry? Thanks in dvance!
@iTooob Hi, sorry for the delay in responding, it's a function of the phone capability, operating systems support and carrier support, to be honest most recent smart phones now support the ability, but wether the carrier allows it is another thing. I'm afraid i'm not sure if the blackberry os supports it natively yet and of course i supppose it depends on which bb you have.
can you still use tethering to access google navigation instead of using the phone's 3G (would be handy to see on a big screen and not on phone screen)
i had a guy at bestbuy telll me many ppl buy the asus and acer alot more than ipads and also love them alot more than the ipad 2 my friend and i compared both the transformer and ipad2 which i had the transformer he bought one the next week and sold his ipad 2
can you try the bloothooth connection see if you can use it as a pad with the in car app loaded. you know the one that has navigate, contacts, voice,ECT that comes on when the blootooth is connected.
i like the transformer but I dont like tegra 2 wasnt impressed when they announced it and still dont now. a Qualcomm arm cortex dual core would have been an appropriate choice. i hope they can optimise android on the tegras further still
I wish Asus would have chosen the OMAP4 over the Tegra 2 junk all these manufacturers are shoving down our throats. I like to play all video formats, natively, don't like having to reformat videos just to get them to play smoothly or play at all on a Tegra 2 tab.
excellent video. I'm just wondering is the native browser on the transformer fast, and is it true that the flash video on this device is sometimes lagging. Also I saw a video show off the quality of 720p record on this device, the quality is not as good as I excepted.
@zhchumenbeing Hi, Flash video is ok, but although it should play 720p it's not great. This is acknowledged by Adobe and they say that it'll be improved significantly when flash comes out of beta for honeycomb devices (i think when honeycomb 3.1 is around, yes i know it's available on the xoom in theory)
I am not the uploader, but I can answer the last two questions.
If there are any updates, google will put it out to asus who will have to make the update more functional on there tablets, and you should be able to wirelesly update.
I believe the apps you are talking about are for windows (exe files) Android does not support those types of format, and you have to use the android market to get apps. Usually you wont have to worry about a virus but there are antivirus software
@lgriffiths1981 There will be updates to honeycomb, both fixes and actual updates, 3.1 is already released for the xoom and hopefully this will be available for the transformer sooner rather than later, but not heard anything from asus to time-scales. yes you install what ever software you want either from the android market (an app on the phone or via the web page , suck that apple :)) There are a few antivirus and office apps out there.
Scolling should be better, but i don't find it noticable
Hey thanks for covering those things. I chose scan specifically because it is a fairly content heavy site, but the tablet handled it beautifully. I'm still torn between this and an iPad 2 though as I haven't been able to find any (handwritten) note taking apps in the Android Market that match the quality of those in the App Store. Thanks again.
@tobsmonster2 If you want handwritten functionality you might like to check out the HTC Tablet (flyer) it's one of the things that it tries to differentiate itself with.

Excellent video, many thanks.
Just a few questions that you may be able to answer after using the device.
A lot of people are saying that honeycomb is very laggy, both is scrolling, pinch to zoom, gameplay etc - what are your experiences?
Do you think there'll be updates to honeycomb or is this the final version. If there are updates how will they be accessed on the tablet?
Can you still install software i.e openoffice and antivirus or does everything have to done via apps?
