  • This is GOOD music. Now I'm not one to preach "real hiphop", I listen to my fair share of ignorant music, but man, this song is great. Everything about it. Thumbs up for good music man.

  • Man, Kev Brown got some heat! Check out my version of this track, search for VyrusTheGr8 - Pay Attention and let me know what you think.

  • @FuckinVeks you're right! this is the original version performed and produced by Kev Brown. 9th wonder produced the remix....but this is the original version.

  • I Hate How Every Girl Wants The Same Thing. Just Cuz People Want TO Be Different From Society They Are Left Out The Picture. Fuck Bitches

  • @TheRDiz real TALK.

  • @TheRDiz Not women. There's a difference.

  • @TheRDiz @TheRDiz Not every girl wants the same thing, that's just a stereotype, just the same as the stereotype of a man, not every man wants one thing. Just gotta get to know people better and beyond all those sluts + players, you'll find someone real, not saying it's easy to find + there's not many of us real girls, but trust me, we're here.

  • Can relate to this.

  • Wow, the songs not even done yet, but I'm already connected so much to the Mc....and thats a rare thing.

  • i cant find this anywhere to download can anyone help me out?

  • @tennythomas123 it's on the album Kev Brown "I Do What I Do" as a bonus track - it's on Itunes.

  • Just stumbled upon this dude...All i can say is wow he got skills..Im liking what im hearing as far as up and coming producers in the rap game....Kev Brown and them cats the Top Scholars are sickos makin beats!!

  • Ive been diggin in the crates for years and still havnt found this sample. Shit is madd ILL and kev brown is one of the Realest MC's still doin it.

  • i just heard of this dude. my friend told me to check him out. im glad i did. this is dope. i'd like to hear this guy flow with outkast

  • Lovin these Kev Brown tracks. I always thought the 90s east coast sound was dead but didn't realize there's some good stuff out there from the 2000s.

  • This is too ill. I just recently found out about this song on that 9th Wonder and Pete Rock Class in Session. This track has quickly become my favorite on there. Alot of us can relate to these lyrics. I seem to always find out about dope artists later, but better than not at all. Music like this should be played on the radio instead of the garbage now. Thanks for the post. "Always got to be something right?"

  • u think he uses an sp?

  • Comment removed

  • @thisisdrink100

Dude. there's more than a few of Kev doin' his thing on the SP

  • @h2junkey

More than a few vids, that is.

  • Dope!

  • man... fuck you ok? :)

  • I'm stupid man i first heard kev brown like 3 months ago and i never explored him till now. that was really stupid cuz he's fuckin dope!!

  • kev speaks some real talk on this joint forreal. story of my life. heavenly surreal beat, absolutely PERFECT

  • damn why not just listen to this jewel instead of pretending you know what your talking about.

  • fuck you bitch i know much more of this than you punk-ass do

  • Comment removed

  • @ thekeller your so self centered you thought i wrote that comment about you ... go suck a dick you kill joy fuck

  • Shit, some real shit in here! Keep it up Kev, you rule

  • this is one of my favorite beats and tracks. Between this and Murs in the rain, there isn't a better song that that shows what we good guys go through with girls. I love how 9th flipped this track but the original is the best.

  • @scottyrob82

    That's some real shit

  • @scottyrob82 "lookin at the front door" by main source (large professor)

  • (cont) I'm not saying he going to BE Dilla, because obviously their musical compistion is different. But I am referring that he can be the next Dilla in a way that he can be the next person to bring us, the listeners, a new flow and style in hip-hop. It's like a metaphor, an analogy. All in all I don't mean to disrespect anybody. Peace.

  • @Palmar3s

I feel you my man I was just confused bout what u were sayin. kev brown is nasty; he stays w/ them jazzy guitar loops an he has a good feel for layering...And while of course he's more than just the sum of his influences, I think there's more cutting edge stuff out there that stretches the game further in a weirder/nicer direction: the clonious, mndsgn, flying lotus, portformat to name a few. Kev's good for kickin it w/ a sack but he ain't nuthin on the Jazz Liberatorz...

  • Comment removed

  • and why he can not be the next Dilla? I mean, if Dilla brought a new style and flow into hip-hop with his beats, why Kev can't? I see Dilla as a person who created his own style in hip hop and I say it the same way with Kev. I mean, nowadays mainstream hip-hop sounds the same and we need new cats to represent what is real hip-hop, not ringtone rappers. Pete Rock did it, Premo, RZA, Madlib, Kankick so it is Kev's turn.

  • @Palmar3s Dilla didn't create his own style, he created bout 20 of em. Dude never had an lp sound like the last.

Also ya cant put kankick in same sentence as preemo, pr or madlib...sorry

  • @Taaffeman130 If I can nod my head day and night to a Kankick instrumental track the same way I nod my head day and night to a PR, madlib, etc. under my terms I CAN put him in the same sentence.Yeah the big cats have more recognition and a deeper repertoire but that does not mean "you can't put him in the same sentence", no offense bro but I find it absurd to elevate producers from others. They all keep it real with unique styles and beats from the heart,I appreciate your comment. God bless. peace

  • Real talk - what's good w/ all these fools talkin bout the "next dilla?" Yea, dilla held it down, no doubt...but u don't hear nobody talkin bout the "next led zeppelin," the "next loretta lynn," the "next johnny cash." Let a legend rest in peace, na mean. His influence is out forever now. Ain't no "next dilla." Ain't no "next Picasso." Respect the work an move forward...if u interested in influences, then focus on that, but it only takes 5sec. to fall n luv w/ a jam

  • I agree. Let somebody make their own legacy and respect them for what they do and not comparing them to others.

  • This is a 9th Wonder Beat, Not a Kev Brown, If you Like these smooth, cooled out beats -- Check 9th Wonder, Pete Rock, & Nicolay etc...

  • I don't understand, why do you keep saying that this is a 9th Wonder remix when clearly this is the original song produced by Kev. I think you are confusing the videos, the remix is another video son. I think the guy who uploaded it has the change the info a bit.

  • @TRUEMADRID nah bro....you're wrong. this is kev all the way. 9th did the remix. trust me

  • This Is a 9th Wonder Beat , Not Kev Brown. Ther will Be no other J-Dilla... If you like these beats man check out 9th Wonder, Pete Rock, & Nicolay etc.

  • @TRUEMADRID

how can you say this is NOT Kev Brown? If you listen to Kev Brown you can tell that this beat IS his signature style, the smooth guitar licks, eloquent basslines and drums. There is even another vid on youtube where Kev explains the making of this beat. Get your facts straight, if not, prove me wrong.

  • This is the original by Kev Brown. I have the flipped 9th version which is really tight but this is far more smooth, simple, and soulful.

  • Straight and direct, I dare to say that Kev Brown can be the next Dilla, I mean, he has a nice flow when he raps and he makes fat beats, killer basslines and is true to his music. It's only my subjective opinion.

  • This is such a dope, real song!

  • "And maybe i dont know how to pick tho, seems like every chick i know is out to get dough and i aint got a lot of that and i dont front about it"

Listening to these lyrics, they describe me this very moment.

    Peace!

  • I definitely feel you on that my man.

  • hold on this is not on the i do what i do album :s where does it come from?!

  • Can anyone send me this song and Albany??

  • "Doing tracks to blast off, being lonely is a regular thing, my phone dont ring".

  • Great tune !! 5*

  • so fresh.

it`s beautiful and magic like when a hot girl grabs her own tits and smiles at you.

  • I still can't understand why he only put this as a bonus track... it's ridiculously tight

  • ridiculous dopeness wow in love & faded lol

  • i no its my favorite song on the album...i hated having to skip up to that part every time i listened to it on my ipod. it is a separate song on a mixtape by 9th wonder and pete rock tho

  • I bought the vinyl 12", easy solution.

  • haha that works too

  • I been looking for that shit for EVER! where in the fuck you dig that nugget out???

  • @DivineMethodUK - Kev put his older vinyl releases as "Bonus Tracks" on the I Do What I Do album. He wanted his newest joints at the time to be the main content on the album. Agreed, Always is one of his classics!

  • @DivineMethodUK because A Touch of Jazz owns this record, as well as "Can't Stay Away," Jazzy Jeff gets my respect but he did Kev Brown greasy

  • @DivineMethodUK atleast it's there lol.

  • "I feel the same way" love this song.

  • THX

  • ça c'est d'la musique...

  • People can actually relate to this guy.

  • RAW!

  • lyfes fruits

  • thiz iz great;)

  • i like it. not sure if its a 9th track but if it is hes working on his swing...

  • kev brown and 9th wonder?

isn't it a kev brown beat with kev brown lyrics?

  • its a kev brown track but 9th wonder did the remix which is an ill beat too. its actually uses most of the same samples too w/ same lyrics

  • hmm, i checked the remix but i like this much more, i missed that killing kev brown-kinda bassline :)

  • its just the exact same track with 9th wonders kicks and snares. I can feel most of 9ths shit but this is some kick back shit. It just doesn't sound right with drums taking over the track.

  • definitely a post-millenium trend in hip-hop, heavily influenced by "Midnite Marauders" & quasi-neo soul. a slow club vibe.

Kev Brown & LB leading the pack on this.

  • Dope!

I can REALLY relate to this song...I feel THE EXACT same way.
