It usually takes me 5 or 6 water bombs. It took me awhile before I could do it with 3.

The timing is tight, but you can still kill Morpheel before barely drowning. I released the 3rd water bomb 3 seconds before Morpheel sucked me in. The best way obviously is to clawshot Morpheel immediately after using the 3rd water bomb...something I haven't been able to do using only 3 waterbombs. It is possible though.

I have the same capture card. It looks better when there are a lot of dark areas in the background. It looks the worst when there is a lot of light and I'm moving around a lot. More pixelation and quality break up occur with light + a lot movement for some reason.

Yeah, I said it was impossible. I assumed that there would be no way not to drown after Morpheel shook me off and never really tried that hard as a result.

The only hard part of this fight is timing when to use the 3rd water bomb. You will never drown after using the 1st water bomb if Morpheel uses the pattern you see during the beginning of the 2nd phase. There are only 2 patterns Morpheel will use at the beginning of the 2nd phase. He either goes low enough for you to clawshot him quickly or he doesn't...50% chance.

it doesn't look too too hard. the hardest trick he uses is probably the one where after he attacks morpheel a second time in the second phase he quickly shoots morpheel and deals the finishing blow. I've tried that trick only once, died, and never tried again.

I doubt it is possible to do this with 2 bombs. You need a near full air gauge when clawshotting Morpheel the 1st time. That's one bomb. Then you have to use a 2nd bomb quickly to refill your air gauge again before drowning. Then you need a 3rd bomb to refill your air gauge once more before clawshotting and attacking Morpheel for 2nd and 3rd cycles.

Not really. You won't have enough air to kill Morpheel with 2 water bombs. You have to use the 2nd water bomb quickly so you don't drown. Afterwards, you'd have to swim up some and clawshot Morpheel. You'll end up drowning. The only way this might be possible is if Morpheel were to use his suction attack quickly after using a 2nd water bomb.
