  • @musat123 from what I understand either a small pay or no it would probably depend which promo and how big their roster is and all

  • Is it hard to Try-out succesfully for an Indy Wrestling Promotion? What are they going to ask you to do?

  • @leelichan nothing just your cv and they make try out

  • Im curious if anyone can tell me but I am interested in wrestling but im only 5'5 and 125 lbs. I realize I need to put on some more muscle but in the mean time should I start wrestling now and add some size as I go or wait until i get bigger first.

  • @physicalgrafiti12345 i would say put on some more muscle first. i trained with a kid who said the first time he went to train they told him to get bigger, so he came back again like 30 lbs heavier or something

  • i woulda loved to wrestle back in the territorial days

  • Can you wrestle for an indy wrestling promotion and have a fulltime job at the same time? Somebody plz respond. thank you...

  • @leelichan there is no contract you sign in indy wrestling that can keep you from making money on the side. even in wwe and tna you can do other things. i remember seeing vader's interview on Beyond the Mat where he says that in addition to being a wrestler he also owns a realestate company.

  • this is what i really want to do right now but im located in vancouver how can i know exactly how to start my road to wrestling id love to do this for a living im 16

  • What is considered too old to get into the wrestling buisness?

  • @Macashima its probably best to get in before your in your 30's. the only person i've known to start getting in ring later than that and be succesfull is DDP, and the only reason he started so late was becuase he was injured before his debut

  • @lionkiller7 actually DDP he came into the buisness as a heel wrestling manager. To that he used it as a stepping stone to be a wrestler. His first match was against Rap Master PN News to which he lost. His first victory was against Tom Zenk (Z-Man).

  • @Macashima Everybody wins against Z-Man. He loves to be dominated.

  • @onondagha1 Not true, Z-Man was a face that had to follow the scrips in WCW thanks to the bullshit writers like Jim Ross, Tony Shavanni, Missy Hyatt, Gordon Sully, and Grizzly Smith to which he lost every pay per view. What's funny is he won back the match against the same wrestlers on the Clash of the Champions on TBS with the exception of Rick Rude, Brian Pillman, and Big Van Vader. Do a search on the recorded interview of Z-Man on Youtube

  • @lionkiller7 oh, thanks for the correction. still though, i still think its best to start in your twenty's, weather its in ring or as a manager

  • ECW ECW ECW!

  • to get a job go here ->careerstarts.info<-

  • to get a job go here ->careerstarts.info<-

  • Well i went online and it said,if you wanna join wwe you have to have atleast 3 to 5 yrs experience with wrestling, record a video of u wrestling and send it in to them.

  • it's true that with independant wrestling you can't feed your family, but it's the best way to start, and i will say, the only way, except if you are a friend of hulk hogan or triple H. But there is wrestling in other country too, for example in mexico with the CMLL, or in japan the NJPW and NOAH, and in france with the WS!!! travelling is a good way too. I have been in the business for 4 years now, and i can say it's an everyday training full of sweat and blood ;)

  • Lol I love how all those morons think it's all about pain killer addictions and steroids! Because WWE is the biggest wrestling promotion and it was involved in a steroid scandal suddenly everyone thinks it's a business fuelled by drugs, WRONG, Vince only pushes the big guys and they all want to succeed thus convincing them they need to take steroids to get that all important main event push. The business isn't all about drugs, just WWE. You'll never see a guy as big as Cena on the indie circuit.

  • i dont care that it is fake, its what i plan on doing when im old enough

  • @TDOG871 Me too man, I'm turning 18 in a couple of months. Just got a job, so as soon as I have enough money I'm going for it. Best of luck to you.

  • @Mist27

Best of luck to you man. I'm becoming 18 this January and I'm really gonna try and go for it as well.

  • Actually, he's wrong too, you can make a killing over in Japan or Mexico too. I also agree with him about how easy it is to get a ring and so forth, but if the product is good, no matter the economy or what, the people will come. Simple as that.

  • TNA started in Nashville.

  • Is there any schools in Latvia?

  • what about Ring of Honor?

  • @MrPhenomenal7 No kidding.

  • @MrPhenomenal7 don't kid yourself, no one in ROH is making a living off ROH.

  • Where's the "how" in this video? Makes no sense.

    Also, there ARE other options:

-Japanese promotions; many promotions, from major ($) to mid ($) to indie. A little closer to how the U.S bussiness used to be.

    - Spain; One major promotion with pay, but you wont get rich...

I've done a few matches, but combining that with all the training it requires, AND a full time job to pay the bills was simply too much. At least I've tried performing, which was my dream. Extremely tough for a "fake" sport....

  • 02:07 grab that burred head

  • This didn't tell how to get a job. Awful.

  • does anybody know if there are any wrestling school in portugal?

and what age do you start?

  • @mrguycrap I want a school in Portugal too :D

  • @mrguycrap

Not sure, but there are good ones in England and Norway. I'd recomend NWF, Norwegian Wrestling Federations wrestling school. A small fed, but with very good teachers if you really wanna learn the craft properly (a MUST IMO). They have a sollid reputation in europe and are part of UEWA (Union of European Wrestling Alliance). UEWA might have more info. Check these out! (remove spaces)

    Good luck!

  • wheres johnny emerald

  • Cool to see this guy is not a used car salesman saying anything to get you to come to his school. Instead he lets you know straight up the difficulty to fully succeed in this profession.

  • Thanks for the helpful video, I now know exactly how to get a job in professional wrestling and will do so at once.

  • "Where to get a job" might be a more appropriate title... ZZZZzzzz

  • giventhe choice between wwe and tna i would definately take tna.

  • @Haveada y so u can do sterords

  • @222dead well... did you come to this video just so you could hate.

  • @Haveada no i like the vid i just dont like it when ppl trash WWE

  • @222dead you kidding me? A shitload of former and current WWE wrestlers have admitted to using steroids.

  • @VoorkJTV ya they used to ...but in tna they r doing them all the time......my proff ...rob terry

  • @QwickSCOPES no chance of it.

  • so how the hell do you get the job?

  • maybe u just go to conneticut, and go in and get an app, then if they like u they sign u up for ovw,or maybe fcw,idk

  • @TheGoodCasino u dont get an app for a pro wrestling job, u work in the indies first and then ull have to wait for WWE or TNA to discover u and see if they sign u... WWE has tryouts once a year they invtire 50 ppl they like and if they dont invite u u can pay 1000 dollars to tryout

  • @xxxnickxxxxx - that's exactly what i said..

  • @xxxnickxxxxx what do you mean by indies? and how old do you have to be for wwe tryout???

  • @INSANE705 indies is like when your a wrestler but not on tv, you would have to wrestle in small gyms and stuff you can also go to mexico and japan and places like that but its not that easy getting on tv and you have to be 18

  • @xxxnickxxxxx

Well TBH you don't HAVE to work for independent promotions to get a job with the big two, it is just recommended. I remember hearing Chris Jericho talk about how a lot of guys nowadays are just going from wrestling school to a major company.

  • @MajorPayne92 wrestling school is pretty much the same as independent scene, you train at the school and then have matches at the indie promotion

  • Yo, do anyone knows of a Pro Wrestling school in Memphis Tn. or at least by at?

  • I'd Rather Be in TNA it's more realistic!!!!!!

  • @Jsmith129613 cause it's more wrestling and less show, where-ass WWE is almost all show.

  • I like the guy in the red trunks...he's hot....nice the other guy is cute too, but I like trunks not pants

  • Do you get paid in independent circuits?

  • @musat123 Yes, but usually very little.

  • @musat123 yes but most of them are pay-per-appearence deals meaning that you only get paid a lump sum per show. In a large organization like the WWE, most of their talent have written contracts for however-many months or years and they get paid regardless of whether they're used on a show or not. How much you get paid in an indy promotion depends on how often you're used which depends on your popularity because they want to book people who can fill seats and get those fans to come back.

  • @musat123 the WWE, WCW and other promotions like it started to compete outside of their territories which destroyed the independent circuit. Back in the day, for example, in order to wrestle in, say, Memphis, you would have HAD to belong to the promotion(s) that worked in that territory. Promoters across the country had verbal agreements not to compete with each other across territories which preserved the industry and everyone was able to make a little bit of money

  • @musat123 the WWF under Vince McMahon broke this honor system and started to produce shows nationally and eventually internationally. Eventually the company became public and eventually became what we now know as the WWE.

So instead of a lot of small promotions making a decent amount of money a piece and being able to provide their workers with a decent standard of living, now since the WWE is produced or shown in every state and almost every country, the WWE now takes up most of the industry

  • @musat123 and its money while the smaller promotions that can't get a TV deal or break out onto the national scene or at least cult status (like the old ECW for example) can only provide a meager wage for its talent which is why a lot of indy stars end up having to wrestle for two or three different promotions at a time and why TNA is considered to be understanding in that it allows many of its workers to still work for other indy promotions while with TNA since TNA can't afford to have all

  • @musat123 of its workers on written contracts like most of the WWF/E roster.

  • just keep a part time job, just in case you don't get the check you wanted

  • I would go to WWE if i am a big guy

  • @dvsmike thanks bro I guess I never thought of that...it follows the same theory as trying to build a buzz for a band ur in...its alll about proving urself and detication and like u said...selling yourself

  • It is possible to make a living at professional wrestling on the indys without having to maintain a day job, but it requires you to be really good, bring a draw consistently, and network to work across the country. Its still is a business and you need to be able to sell yourself. But if your mediocre or just plain suck and promoters aint callin ya, keep ur day job and have fun.

  • To get into most indys you need to have went to some sort of school already which a very expensive investment to start out...and a lot of the indys have bad communication skills apparently...I've email/called many of them for inquiries and theve never responded...oh well

  • @radgainesmaster Its quite simple bro, go to the shows they put on and find the promoter and tell him your interested and if your heart is in it then you will volunteer to help set up and break down the ring. Be at every show, help promote, ring crew and your well on your way to "paying your dues". Im sure somewhere in the process the promoter will hook you up into his school or at another school he may be partnered with.

    Good luck.

  • tna is now wcw

  • The state athletic commission in every state needs to look at pro wrestling and realize that Vince McMahon lied to them and the public. That pro wrestling isn't fake and these guys get seriously hurt. This will get rid of all the outlaw promotions where these guys who know nothing start up leagues. Also the wrestlers will be able to make better livings. I imagine more injuries come out of pro wrestling each year than MMA, yet MMA is regulated and pro wrestling isn't. make no sense to me.

  • How do you link with those two big promotions?

  • i know a guy thats been wrestling for 15 years now and has been hvt champion in many small indy leagues. but he still only makes around 50-100 bucks a night. theres no way u can live off that just wrestling on friday and saturday nights. i would love to wrestle in a small promotion and have a title run but you will lose money getting into the business.

  • You can always go to wrestle in Japan and make a decent living. Or atleast thats what I've heard

  • wwe and tna for the United States but AAA (Mexico) and Pro Wrestling NOAH (Japan) offer Wrestlers enough income to live off of.

  • i much rather iwa ipw jcw czw wxw ecx

  • yeah there are more companys like AAA and NWA theres also more shows out of the country, but the future is coming so i guess by than the'yll be more companys

  • This video didn't actually explain HOW to get a job in wrestling. It only talked about what WWE/TNA and the indie circuits are. Um...

  • the guy in red is hot! and i didnt see a ring on his finger... ;-)

  • You so cwazy.

  • how much dose NWA make ?

  • lol, im only 10 and im trying to be a wrestler now so ill see you guys on tv!! ps cain stevens.

  • hey he left out some companys like AAA and CMLL in mexico NJPW in japan in just working as an indy wrestler in Philly you can live of the pay check possibly there 5 wrestling promotions there and ROH is big? dragons gate USA is too? and theres lots of promotions in upper east USA or what about a day job

  • AAA CMLL and anything in Japan you can make a living off of. PA will pay enough for a single bachelor to live off of but you cant feed a family with it.

  • thats why when i start wrestling again im glad my wife will be working, besides like aj styles or jericho said i dont need a paycheck from it thats just a bonus id wrestle for free, just to hear the applause, or boos u nvr know with me

  • @theriot411 totally right! The passion to wrestling!

  • you CAN make a living of wrestling even if youre not in the wwe or tna :S swedens former wrestling foundation GBG wrestling could pay their wrestler a good sum of money...way larger than a paycheck from a normal job...wwe may be biggest...but not the only one with money :P

  • BINGO! As you stated FORMER! GBG they had 17 wrestlers on their roster, held local shows, no international TV and where are they today? There are thousands of independent wrestlers I know hundreds of them. Being one myself I can tell you that if I didn't have my regular profession I sure could not pay the bills with wrestling.

  • I cant believe some idiots gave this video low rating yet this guy speaks the truth.

  • @createaccount2009 No, he doesn't Look at Colt Cabana, Chris Hero, Bryan Danielson, Sal freakin Rinauro. These guys are traveling the world doing indy bookings making a living.

  • great info

  • 1st yeah!!!!!!!!!!!
