Where was the stalwart, the loyal Thane fo JAZZ/RAGTIME Tdub41 during this magnificent performance? How envious I am of those able to attend these rare events.
I know there are a few flubs here and there, but I don't think this is too bad! If you think that was fun to watch...it was 10 times as much fun to play! Thanks Ron!
It is difficult to hear the other piano in a duet, indeed (and I have difficulty keeping an even tempo on most things that I can fumble through). But if you can keep an even tempo, you can just play straight and let one of these guys do the embellishing. Once, during a three-piano performance of Maple Leaf, I sat down and joined in on the fourth piano that was in the room. That was OK; I couldn't hear MYSELF in that case! In those days (early 1990s), I actually could play Maple Leaf rather well.
ehhhh, nope. Flubs everywhere, and only can even attempt to play it straight. I used to go an octave high in the right hand and an octave low on the bass notes, and a few little embellishments here and there... Not anymore. I'm just too out of practice.

What a fun song! I wish I play that (but I couldn't play both parts at the same time!)

There would be no one to accompany me, and I don't know how hard it would be for me. It's very likely that it would be to hard.
