Nice effort and a thumb up for the work done - thumb down because the whole video is bad performed and is of such (pretty usual on youtube) quality that regularely pisses med off. Nice knife tough...!
I don't understand why anyone would leave negative comments or reviews for a video like this. It's basically free information and instruction. And for a new forger like myself, it's very helpful. If he's a bit off on a few details, who cares? I've watched supposedly professionally made DVDs that are not as informative as this one. The makers assume that you own the same expensive and hard-to- find equipment as they own which makes the vids pretty much useless for beginners on a budget.
Looking good John. I'm trying to figure out how you knew when it was time to quench the blade in all that bright light there ? Did you use a torch to temper it ?
I love the blade. I think it deserves a better handle. The front end of the handle looks like it's been pared away and filled with grey cement. Lovely forged blade though!
I love that knife, it reminds me of the old hudson bay trade knife my great granddad used to carry in the mountains of pennsylvania, he has been dead for 45 years, but i can still see the smile that knife used to bring to his face.

Nice looking knife, but it would have been nice to see some of the actual work being done.
