Hey guys I don't want to be that annoying guy who spams Youtube videos but it would be so awesome if you liked my Facebook page called "New Metal, Metalcore, and Deathcore Bands/Songs Every Day". I just posted a song from MNEMIC a couple of days ago. Love these guys :)
has a nu-metal quality to it, reminds me of Korn mixed with Meshuggah oddly enough. and no im not saying thats a bad thing at all, in fact this is one of my favorite Mnemic songs.
@adino20 actually the difference with mnemic is the bass is tuned super low. Beast tunes as low as F# and plays an octave below the guitars where Dick from Meshuggah tunes to drop Bb (so other than the lowest string his bass is tuned up not down) and he hardly ever touches his lowest string. IN meshuggah Dick plays the exact same octave as the guitars. You can actually tune a standard 4 sting bass up a half step(F, A#, D#, G# and pretty much play all the Meshuggah 8 string riffs.
@TheChrispablo buy the Meshuggah Alive DVD the bass tech tells you the tunings. On the 8 string meshuggah albums the bass is tuned to drop Bb so what would normally be the E string is up a half step to F to match the guitars.
@Jeudaos They started out in B, but Sons Of The System and Passenger are F# (2.5 steps down, 5-string bass/7-string guitars).
Yeah, it's low. There's a video of Tue Madsen (their producer) talking about all the equipment Obeast needed to make his bass tone still sound good at that tuning. It's kind of scary.
do you happen to know the guitar tuning for this song? the guitarists in my band just got 7 strings and i wanna start writing something in this tuning!
@somos999 Since this is on Sons Of The System, that's F#/2.5 steps down. But make sure your amps (especially the bass amp) sound good that low. Not every amp is made for downtuning that far, and I found that out the hard way.
if you love the low sounding riffs and the melodic synths then check out the band the defiled.i have their new debut album on my profile.they are fucking sick.check em out you wont be disappointed
"No matter the pain" ... It only annoys me... ALOT... that the sound they use doesn't continue with a chorus or something just after the "...pain", but just ends there. Sounds epic!
PLEASE HELP! I Love this song and band, and at aprox 3:33 into the song there is that breakdown and the electronic programming kicks in; simply great! I must find more music that shares that heavy modern metal feel with similar sounding industrial electronic programming
@herculov Synthetic Breed is a great recommendation. I have only listened to Catatonic mostly, but Perpetual Motion Machine sounds great as well! Thanks for that band.
@Richinator2000 I used to listen to a lot of Pitchshifter back in the day, but mostly I would throw it on in the background for some ambient chill music. Desensitized was great for that!
@SinandGrin sinandgrin listens to all the same people i do... but a few more is sonic syndicate, poisonblack, eluveitie, entwine, katatonia, nightfall, sentenced, shadows fall, soil, soilwork, and threat signal... sorry i dont got more but i'm still looking for new stuff every day as well. hope ya enjoy. long live metal!!
@Allister008 Threat Signal, Soilwork, Soil, Shadows Fall, Sentenced are all great and I have them all. Others to looks at that i really like are, Mutiny Within, Thy Will Be Done, Bury Your Dead, Arkaea, Bleed the Sky, The Black Dahlia Murder, Byzantine!
@SinandGrin True. But FF's most recent album really kicked ass because the band's line up was reconstructed with the best musicians for the job. You should check out Fear Factory's latest album, "Mechanize".
@MachinaeSupremacist I like the music a lot of Periphery, it has a great modern groove feeling to it, but I find the vocals lack the depth and Intensity that I love in some other bands like Mnemic, Bury your Dead, and Throwdown. If you really like that groove sound they have and don't mind some instrumental work, you must check out Keith Merrow. He's a studio musician and has some great work. You can even download and listen to his whole first album for free!
@SinandGrin Already know about Keith Merrow, already have Lonestar Transcend. It's awesome.
"Intense" vocals are a problem in djent, since part of the blueprint that Meshuggah set is to sound soulless and mechanical, but have you heard of Threat Signal? (Probably, but it's worth a shot.)
@SinandGrin We Butter the Bread With Butter uses electronic sounds, but thier vocals are some of the heaviest vocals you can find. For an introduction to the band check out the song Sabine die Zeitmaschine. They are German, but you can't even tell.
insanely low sounding tuning. amazing catching hook chorus that still fits the hardcore melody of the song. I agree with all of you guys. I gotta get this album. you can sure hear the fear factory esk style with these dude. does anybody know if these guys were influenced by FF or not?
wow........................................ can anyone say pure fucking masterpiece, like minirambo said, I MUST GET THIS FUCKING ALBUM. gotts show these fucking weak ass lady gaga fucks what the real shit is.

i love it when the bass is loud in metal but mostly math metal with their use of 8 strings that drown out the bass
